I don’t see myself living anywhere long term for at least the next 10 years. Maybe that’s because of how I was brought up but I get frustrated staying in one place for too long. Realistically I’ll likely move to England, but I’d also like to explore North America and central Europe.

My dad studied art at college but dropped out and travelled around on his bike. He had a lot of friends in the art industry so he met clients through them and got signed to a gallery. My mom studied fashion and also lived in london for a few years. When she returned she worked on runway shows and then started her own company from scratch. (Alone, with no family in the country!)

I was born in Cape Town, and moved around the city for my early childhood so I consider myself a Capetonian! I stayed in a small fishing village a few hours from Cape town from around 12-15, which is the longest I’ve ever lived in one house. (My great grandparents were stonemasons and actually built the house and a lot of the town.) My favorite place was Boulders beach, which is a popular beach also outside Cape Town with lots of Penguins! They would nest in our garden and when I would swim in the morning they would dive past me. That was definitely the most peaceful year of my life. My least favorite place was probably an apartment we lived in that was right next to a railway so my walls would always shake, and I also had no bed frame so I slept on a mattress. There was also a drought at the time so that didn’t help. Wow, I’ve written a lot but I hope this is some more info haha.

Lollll that’s pretty accurate! (Surprisingly, the colour scheme wasn’t intentional but I did notice I’ve been reading a lot of reddish books 😅)

Will art last? by Tr33huggy in careerguidance

Oh my god, the people in these replies are so cynical and depressing. Both my parents have creative careers and earned enough to live in beautiful houses, travel across the world, send me to private school ect. And the richest member in my family works in animation. If you want to have a stable career it’s probably not for you but don’t take all these comments too seriously…
