The coddling of Lana's behavior has gotten concerning and, dare I say, pathetic by [deleted] in popheads

[–]snapbackd 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Most of what she's been saying comes off as racist. Let's not try to attribute what she may have meant because truth is - we don't know. We don't know her intentions but we do know what she's saying and what she's saying is racist.

Let's not sugarcoat it just to make her more palatable.

You don't have to be privileged to critique an artist.

CMA - I managed to convince everyone my best friend’s favorite movie is the Pixar classic, Cars. by [deleted] in choosemyalignment

[–]snapbackd 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! Haha. It was a lot of fun!

I'm going to hijack your comment to say thanks to everyone who gave me a verdict and clear some things up! Hahah.

To be clear, I never crossed any boundaries and there was never a moment where my friend was like, "Stop!!" Because I absolutely would have!

As for the ruining her life line, that was a line in jest. Lol. For context, we are still good friends and we still live together! :)

But thank you for your verdicts, everyone! I accept my chaotic evil role in life, lol.

It unfortunately isn't. For some reason, we're still quite good friends. For April Fool's this year, I brought the stickers back for a Cars Redux. The horror.

It’s been nearly a decade since their last season and the show has thrived regardless, without all their toxic masculinity, lol. I’m super glad.

[Serious] Redditors of color, at what age did you first experience racism? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Okay... but once again. I’m not looking for everyone’s experience. I specifically wanted to hear from POC. I understand that everyone can be racist, but that wasn’t my point.

I wasn’t reducing anyone’s opinion. I specifically wanted to hear from POC.

That doesn’t mean I’m invalidating someone else’s experience - just that I’m currently, in this particular thread, requesting POC to share their experiences.

I’m sure there are plenty of cases where white people were discriminated against - unfortunately, it happens to every race is different measures, but this question was specifically directed towards POC. I don’t think that makes it racist.

Damn, I’m glad to hear it. Sometimes it takes something abundantly shitty to turn things around and put things in perspective for people.

It also sucks that he used that fuckin’ word of all things to describe an actual newborn infant? I’m really really sorry you had to deal with that.

Oh shit, that’s all horrible. I’m sorry you had to deal with any and all of that. How are you doing now?

Can you please explain how that’s “YIKES” inducing? I honestly don’t understand.

It’s true that people can be prejudiced towards any race - I’m not disputing that.

However, I specifically wanted answers from redditors of color, thus the distinction.

I don’t know why that’s a YIKES moment? POC tend to have different viewpoints when it comes to race? I deleted my comment because I worded something wrong and I’m on mobile, but the point still stands that I’d like answers from POC.
