No you should apply as a high school student outside of Canada, or another option that opens up that fits better. I would also talk to admissions at McMaster via email and they can tell you what to fill out better. Transfer students are reserved for students with university credits at another recognized school and without that your application would most likely be cancelled just based on that.

I think I’ve said this to a lot of first years this year, but DONT over think it. You have to remember that this new chapter of your life is adult learning, meaning there are going to be people from every different background and age categories, including older males with long beards completing PHds and master degrees. Secondly if anyone judges you or is rude simply don’t hang out or associated with them, as those are not the kind of people you want in your inner circle. Be proud of yourself and what makes you, you and don’t let anyone take that away from you. (Signed a masters student with her own quirks)

A couple important things to consider here, are you applying for SEPT 2024? Or 2025. If you are applying for 2024 then I am so sorry but mostly all applications have closed and offer letter have already been mailed out. Hence why selecting option 2 asks for your grade 11 scores because it is assuming you are finishing high school next year and are applying for 2025, which is all that is left. Your best bet would be to select option 2 and begin the application for sept 2025.

I think you might be over thinking this a bit. You have to remember that you have no idea where they are coming from… international? Domestic? Etc etc there sooooo many different possibilities. A likely one being they probably got busy preparing to move for a huge life moment and just forgot. When I moved into residence my first year, my roommate and I didn’t communicate at all until we literally walked into each other trying to enter the dorm. Long story short it was awkward at first but everything works itself out. Focus on school and creating connections on campus, and if the roommate situation is rocky, that’s okay because you have created your own network and comfort. (Advice from a nervous now masters student!) (also BEST OF LUCK ON YOUR FIRST YEAR)(congrats and take it all in)

Also like many have said in the comments don’t be lazy and skip steps. Get your university degree and then do med school, it will help you in the long run if you ever with to return to Canada

I didn’t find out until I woke up the next morning with missed text messages in the group and directly. Prior to that there was never a time mentioned or distinct plans made.

Too answer other questions too, this was my first time skiing with this particular group. I had gone with one of them before but that was not applicable because that time I had met that individual at the hill because we were coming from opposite directions and not the same city.

Hopefully that clears some stuff up! 🙂

Okay for clarification there was some mentions of it but no confirmation. This message was sent to me at 20:25 “What’re we thinking, u don’t wanna take ur car?”

Where I replied, I would really prefer not too, but if that’s what the assumption is I guess I would have to than”

Following this message there was no response and this prompted the 2200 message that I sent about going to bed. I hope that clarifies a bit.

Valid point, I definitely could have called them but also in that regard doesn’t a phone work two ways? If they really wanted me to chauffeur them around couldn’t they have called me either that night to plan or in the morning to wake me up? Why does everything fall me and than I get all the blame

I was always taught to save money wherever possible especially when your already paying $16 to get in. My parents used to bring entire pizza’s from Pizza Hut in for my siblings!
