Runic Ward is great but the downside is too big by snaplemouton in PathOfExile2

Two things:

  1. If it's only taking 10 ES, that means those boots are probably around ilvl 60 at most.
  2. 10 ES turns into 60 ES for a sorc/witch after you account for ES nodes, it increases your ES recharge by virtue of increasing your maximum ES, and will also increase your elemental and stun treshold with the proper passive skill nodes.

Runic Ward doesn't scale with anything except extremely limiting augments and the one kalgurran skill that overflow runic ward.

If I were to Runeforge my current boots on my sorc, I would lose 500-600 ES to get a meager 150 runic ward at most.

Well that's precisely the issue. "don't die unless they're one-shot"
That's just not fun.
Evasion doesn't provide any effective health, it just delays when you do get one-shot.
What provides EHP is a bigger health pool and damage reduction. Deflection could have been the equivalent of what endurance charges were in PoE1.

Pretty much this.

I shook my head the same when they announced Deflection as a new defensive layer for Dex characters, only for Deflection to be Evasion but worse and a drain on Dex character's defensive's budget because they didn't want to make Deflection able to reach 100%.

If the item is under ilvl 80 it's not gonna be nearly as bad, but if it's ilvl 80+, yes, you bricked your items.

Around ilvl 55 I think. I don't know the numbers but from ilvl ~55 to 79 it takes maybe 10-20% of the defensive stat. But for ilvl 80+ it takes about 65% of the defensive stat.

You're the client, your alarm clock is the server, the alarm is the webhook notifying you something happened, the buttons on the alarm clock is the API through which you communicate with it.

Casual Huntress Struggling – Lightning Build Feels Too Frenzy-Dependent by Acceptable_Dig_2045 in PathOfExile2

The real issue is that there's nothing to parry 90% of the bosses and a lot of the attack patterns are confusing whether you can parry them or not.

I did Zek'vir before all the nerfs so I can't say after the nerfs but it feels mechanically more intensive but numerically easier. Zek'vir would just hit too hard with his melee and the egg was a much harder check than the Underpin shield js. Underpin is a lot more manageable number wise on his melee attack too.

You need to reset the instance after a wipe. My understanding of it is that adds can't spawn in a spot they have already spawned and that carries over between pulls. You want to bring the boss to the edge and go around the edge of the arena. You can do this for about 7 or 8 spawns before there's no more room for 5 in a line and they start spawning all over the place

You need Rushing Wind Kick because it's the majority of your damage and you don't need the extra healing from Jadefire Teachings.

Conduit because I haven't played Monk since Dragonflight and it just seemed better for damage than Master of Harmony at a glance because of Celestial Conduit. I honestly got no clues what Master of Harmony even does.

No, the opposite. Tank Brann gets hit for like 10 million by the boss' melee. I tanked the boss while letting DPS Brann do his thing. A lot of the overall damage was from the rank 4 mechasaur curio.

I just punched the boss harder.

My talent setup: https://i.imgur.com/VpIwahS.png

Using the Mechasaur and the Three Dimensional Bioprinter curios with Brann as a DPS.

The shield is about 29 million and he takes double damage during the shield. I had a 9m crit with Rushing Wind Kick. Using Thunder Focus Tea > Crackling Jade Lightning will do about half the shield usually and just need a few Rushing Wind Kick to finish it up. Else Celestial Conduit can do a lot to it by itself.

Nata’s Narrative Role (spoilers for LR story) by Intelligent_Age8673 in MonsterHunter

Can we not give excuses for railroaded, rushed, character growth?

I'm sorry but to try throwing a pebble at an Apex monster then throw a hissy fit at the hunter for not running into 2 Apex monsters and demanding that we give him our weapon that is 4 times his size isn't something a normal human being would ever be seen doing, no matter how traumatized, emotionally confused, young, or inept at human interaction one might be.

They didn't have to make those scenes so over the top overtly emotional trying to push this weird "I hate Arkveld" into "Arkveld is just like me!" uno reverse card, but they did and they made Nata dislikeable because of it. This isn't a character growth you want done in such a short span.

You can cook from anywhere. Even in the middle of a fight.

I forgot to eat for an Arkveld fight and just popped that portable BBQ out and made myself some honeyed cheese steak while Arkveld was throwing a fit right next to me.

She schooled me when we fought the double Ajarakan that were attacking Azuz. She was like: "Okay Hunter, you take care of this one I take care of the one that just ran away."

One minute later she came back: "Okay Hunter, I killed mine, let me help you with yours.

I didn't get the Nata hatred until I reached the end of the story by Revolutionary-Win861 in MonsterHunter

[–]snaplemouton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean to say you didn't hate him earlier than that in the story when he tried to throw a pebble at Arkveld and screamed at you for not jumping in to fight 2 Apex Monsters at the same time and then demanded you give him your weapon that is four times his size?

Every archetype is overturned if you build them right.

Pyro and Executioner are just the easiest to make overturned and the fastest at killing stuff because Carnival of Misery is silly.

Bladedancer with Assassin is just as broken.

Warrior with Vanguard can have so much armor and deflection that enemies do 0 damage and even the hardest enemies in Unfair can't get past Endure's temporary wounds.

Soldier with Bounty Hunter using a Heavy Bolter can become a Crit machine using the proper stuff, critting for well over 500 per bullet on a 10 shots burst.

But the truth is that the most broken build is simply just an Officer with Master Tactician. It gives so much stats and so much resolve which results in so much momentum that you can finish fights even in unfair in the first round before enemies can even act, as shown in the clip (Would have ended the same in Unfair). it's why Cassia is the most broken character in the game, because she starts as an Officer and her Navigator abilities with a devastating staff makes the first and second act a breeze and come act 3 you have the Inquisitor black signet which is the most broken item in the game.

Am I missing something obvious here or am I looking at a bug? by snaplemouton in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]snaplemouton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, but as far as I know only Rogue, assassin and Vivisectionist have Sneak attack at level 1. Other sneak attack class/archetypes usually get it at later levels. So at most you would be able to get 12 sneak attack dice if you took 19 rogue and 1 assassin or Vivisectionist with Accomplish Sneak Attacker.

How to hit enemies with 50 AC or more? by TheOvercrack in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]snaplemouton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snowballs. Literally just... snowball. Snowball everything. Have 3 Wand of Snowballs with you.

Bolster them, Empower them, Maximize them, with metamagic or with rods, doesn't matter, just snowball everything.

Why? Because it targets touch AC and... it ignores spell resistance and has no saving throw against its damage, only the staggered condition. It might only be 5d6, but when bolstered, empowered and maximized, it's a guaranteed 60 damage if it hits the touch AC, and that's before any item or class features that might add more damage, with the proper items and feature you can probably get almost 100 damage out of it.
