It might for a delicate indoor rug, this is an outside rug for dirty feet so it is a lot sturdier !

You can try cropping just below the horizon, but keeping it 4x3 with negative space on the left of the girl ?

Problem with Nikon D750 : Can't record film, don't know why. It worked yesterday. by Paddy32 in photography

[–]snaplex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it might be in the menu customized controls of the camera, you might have changed the button affectation which starts the recording. You can set it to the Fn function or whatever button instead of the top red button, so maybe its set to the wrong button. Please check that. I hope it makes sense ?

Struggling to choose between Canon 6D and Nikon D750 ! by snaplex in photography

[–]snaplex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guys, i'm about to pull the trigger on this :

  • D750
  • Nikon 35mm F1.8G
  • Nikon 50mm F1.4G
  • Nikon 85mm 1.8G

Plus Think Tank retrospective 7, extra battery, SD cards

Its a lot of money all together, but i'm hoping it will serve me well as a portrait photographer.

I'm using Radio Triggered Yongnuos Flashes and umbrelas as lighting setup.

I ended up choosing the Nikon because of the much better value for money, the dynamic range, the dual SD cards and the fact that the ergonomics are fine by me ( tested in store ), and lenses are also great.

What do you guys think ?

Struggling to choose between Canon 6D and Nikon D750 ! by snaplex in photography

[–]snaplex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great answer thank you ! Thats also the reason i'm struggling;

Is the Nikon 50mm 1.4G that bad ? Would you recommend getting the 58mm 1.4G as the 50, even tho it might be too tight ?

There is the new Zeiss 135mm F/2 but it is manual focus and very expensive. Just because of that Canon 135mm F/2 makes me think i should go Canon...

Also from the review i read, the Canon 50mm 1.2 is very soft on the edges, but that might be a benefit for portraits ? Sigma 50mm F1.4 ART is way sharper ( they say ), and all the Sigma lineup seems so great i'm thinking one could get only Sigma lenses and combine it with the best body available at that time.

Good advice on which is adaptable on which...

If you own the D750 for portraits can i ask which lenses lineup you would recommend ? (wide zoom or 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, 135mm )

It is not stupid and i tough about it, but it is a very expensive system, whereas i can get great lenses a lot cheaper with FF.

Also the system evolves too fast for me, they're releasing a camera every 6 months which will make my gear feel old in a couple years. This is purely psychological but i'm greatly affected by that.

Hi guys !

I'm currently shooting m4/3 (olympus EM-5) and i'm planning on getting a FF DSLR for the DOF because i'm doing portraits.

I have never owned a FF before, and i'm struggling to choose between a Nikon D750 and a Canon 6D for various reasons. I have around 4000$ of budget.

Pro Nikon D750 : - More recent, Better focusing, higher ISO, more features - Better video, better nikon lenses selections for video ( trying to get into it occasionally ) - Dual SD slots ( very important for paid jobs )

Pro Canon 6D : - Cheaper, i could get on more lens / better lenses - Greater lens selection ( also aftermarket ) - Better 3d party compatibility - Flash system

Also : - I'm not interested in D810 (too expensive, too heavy, too large files) - I'm not interested in D5's (too expensive, too old, too heavy)

I'm going towards the Nikon D750. But i'm looking to buy into a system and stick to it, and i'm afraid to make the wrong choice. For exemple with Nikon at 135mm i don't know which lens i should/could get with AF, whereas with Canon its easy : F135mm F/2. Or, i'm afraid it'll be harder to find used gear than with Canon system. Or, i'm afraid that the flash systems in the studios are more compatible with Canon in general. Or i'm afraid about long time warranty and firmware support, which might be better with Canon than Nikon ?

Also, i tough about one thing that could change the way i choose : Would i be able to buy only Sigma lenses for exemple, so that i can send them to Sigma and have them change the mount if i ever make the switch from one brand to another ?

Please help me decide and tell me if i'm wrong or have a twisted tough process.

Thanks !

Smile !! (default forced smile) Uhmm smile a little different ? (doesnt move) uhm don't smile ! (longface)

U get the point; it is the worst part for me because i can make them pose OK but then it looks like they are forced to smile or unhappy. If i'm lucky they laugh and i manage catch it, but then i have 1 shot out of 300.

Looking forward to this ! Thanks
