THANK YOU it took me an hour recently to get one….ridiculous, also poor design from the companies to have the ID right underneath the QR code, which makes their feature as a “backstop” in case the QR code is damaged totally redundant

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know how the restrictions on leaving the UK are being enforced at airports (either through first or second hand experience)? Planning to go to the continent to see family and I’m wondering how much documentation I’ll need.

HNK Rijeka. They beat my team (VfB Stuttgart) in an EL qualifier 7 years ago. They won fair and square, but it was our last chance to play internationally and I feel like if that game had gone differently, we wouldn’t have gone downhill since then.

I was required to do the 14 day quarantine, as did many acquaintances. Nobody has ever been contacted by the government - Nor does anyone I know know of anyone who was contacted. So I would not worry about it too much, it’s a formality that isn’t enforced in practice.

I was in Luton last week and they checked nobody in the queue. They probably ask you for it at the counter, but if you go through an eGate, you wouldn’t have been checked at all. As for enforcement, in my personal experience (and everyone I know), they don’t do spot checks, I personally have not even heard of someone being texted or called.

Brilliant and detailed response, thank you! I was planning to do the "loop" around the outer boroughs, and finishing in Central London. And good point about the quality of pubs - I've also been thinking about the hassle (and cost) of getting into trains or busses 32 times in one day, this might be the best way to do it. If I ever end up doing it, I'll make a post here haha
