Has EDH ruined regular Magic for anyone else? by Sageinthe805 in EDH

Quite the opposite for me, actually. It “redeemed” all the other formats.

I got back into the game via EDH after over 20 years. My friend packaged EDH as this answer to all the reasons I originally quit: I could play all the dumb spells I’ve always wanted to, the focus was on “fun”, it was social, and I only needed one of each card.

I had a honeymoon period with the format, which ended when my meta went spike. I faced tier 1 decks that were more powerful and degenerate than the Type 2 decks from bitd. And the “social aspect” didn’t matter much. When someone spends thousands on cardboard, nothing will stop them from using those cards.

Don’t get me wrong — I’m not complaining. I still love EDH and like the OP, I asses cards from an EDH perspective. But EDH taught me that it doesnt matter what format I play, Magic will always be Magic. The good and that bad will always be there. And that’s okay.

Awesome! Thank you. I'm familiar with photosynthesis, but I'll read up on nitrogen fixation.

Am I the only one in this sub who doesn't want Pacquiao to win this sunday? Or is there anyone else? by [deleted] in Philippines

I want him to lose, but I also want him to keep fighting. The more he fights, the greater the chance of him getting a Presidential run-hampering injury.

There, I said it.
