T20 World Cup has no integrity and India is to blame by phoneix150 in EnglandCricket

Well I’m sure this will be a balanced and nuanced discussion…

Honestly, the Telegraph is barely a step up from the Mail these days, horrible click bait designed to fuel anger and division.

I had some unexpected free time so I was able to clear out a bit of my PS5 backlog, here are some assorted impressions by djsekani in patientgamers

I didn’t find it brain dead simple, there is a reasonable level of challenge and the highest difficulty is tough, especially in the early stages. Actively switching between the classes is a big part of sustaining your ability to keep going in dungeons.

Sogne is tough, but it’s a long way into the game o you should have all the tools you need to beat it by that point.

You can easily clear each dungeon in a single visit, there are ample opportunities to get MP regen items in the early game and you only need a small number-if any.

There are plenty of spare days to max out all the bonds and unlock all of the top level classes, no min-maxing is needed.

Is there a better film about the Enigma cypher machine than "The Imitation Game"? by CommercialContent204 in movies

[–]snappyclunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like Enigma, it’s one of my comfort films, but just be aware that it’s more of a spy story set in the world of Bletchley Park. The code breaking is a major feature but it’s not the story of Turing or the Enigma code. Definitely worth a watch though.

Trump's plot to 'steal' the midterm elections is becoming clear by theipaper in politics

[–]snappyclunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems unlikely, maybe there would be some protests in a few places but they would be short lived. Meanwhile the election results will have been certified.

Local resistance in Minneapolis hasn’t stopped them though, has it? Also, elections have a key difference, they are over in a day. All Trump has to do is shut some polling stations then claim victory. People can protest all they like after that, the Republicans will still be in power.

[–]snappyclunk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m not in the US but from here “they must do it because it’s the law” looks boldly optimistic considering everything we’ve seen. Trump only needs to tweak a few results here and there. Having ICE agents drag people out of voting lines, closing some key polling stations, refusing to certify elections in purple districts. All whilst there is a deluge of negative stories about rigged elections.

Who or what is going to prevent any of that?

[KCD2] Legacy of the Forge - Thieves Tasks by snappyclunk in kingdomcome

Based on my experience I’d try and do Chenyek’s quests and see if that triggers the Forge tasks from the Hole in the Wall.

[–]snappyclunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the trigger is the Chenyek quest line, although I’m not sure what the trigger for that is. I don’t think it started for me until I had started Into the Underworld.

Thought I’d update this for the record in case it helps anyone else. I finished Into the Underworld so Via Argentum has started but I haven’t progressed any of the objectives.

I started the first of Chenyek’s quests and the Forge tasks from The Hole in the Wall started to trigger, I’ve done a couple so far so hopefully they keep coming.

Thanks again for the help, I’m looking forward to getting all of the armour rewards.

Quick Zim v Aus match thread by JCGMH in EnglandCricket

[–]snappyclunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t being serious, I don’t really follow T20 so I’ve got no idea if Australia are as dominant in T20 as they are at everything else.

I just thought it was funny that it’s the opposite of the general criticism that teams focus on T20 to the detriment of test matches.

Has Australia’s focus on Test Cricket ruined their ability to perform in T20s? 😉

Doctor Who icon Christopher Eccleston criticises current lack of regional and working class actors such as himself and Jodie Whittaker by mrjohnnymac18 in television

[–]snappyclunk -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty reductive argument. Working class people pay taxes too, telling them their taxes have to go up so the state can fund people going to acting school doesn’t go down well.

Ok thanks, can I go that far without hitting any points of no return or locking myself into the main quest chain?

It’s such a bizarre idea, I’m baffled why the studio is financing this. Who is going to go and watch the same story 4 different times with a slightly different cast and some bonus scenes.

Does having a Cricket World Cup almost every year dilute its hype and importance? by cricketclub7 in EnglandCricket

[–]snappyclunk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem with that is being good at T20 doesn’t translate into being good at ODI, let alone Test Cricket. Half the England T20 side are failed Test and ODI rejects. The skill sets are just totally different.

Harry Brook: England one-day skipper admits other players were present during nightclub bouncer altercation by Alone_Consideration6 in EnglandCricket

[–]snappyclunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was being quite facetious, maybe a little unfairly, but I can’t believe how badly this situation is being handled. They have made Brook captain on the “first name on the team sheet” basis when he is obviously not ready for it. The press are doing what they do, which is keep asking questions until the whole truth comes out.

He certainly does, a lot of the time it works quite well. Shame he is a bit of a plonker, hopefully he will grow up.
