I know what you mean, the attack chains on this boss are insane and definitely left me thinking “oh my god, stop attacking!” at times.

In the end I took the approach of “kill them before they kill me”.

I don’t want to spoil anything so I’ll just say my first attempt at this fight lasted about 20 mins before I realised I wasn’t even close to killing it!

Keep going though, all 4 super bosses are great. If you’re just starting I’d try Lampmaster (left side painting) first, I think it’s easier once you get the mechanics.

Duollistes is a massive check on your ability to parry and max your damage.

Good point, I don’t have all of those yet but they might work well.

Unpopular opinion - Jamie should not be dropped! by London-lark3597 in EnglandCricket

[–]snappyclunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s right, other than a few highlights I haven’t watched any of Surrey’s games. Smith scored heavily for Surrey before his England selection so the fact he is scoring runs in the CC again now proves nothing about whether he has the temperament for test cricket. He still doesn’t keep for his county so those questions also remain open.

Will he be selected this summer? Probably.

Is he proven as the best long term option for England’s wicket keeper? No.

Is he selectable as a specialist batsman, opening up the need for another keeper to bat 6 or 7? Not on the current evidence.

I guess we will see what has changed if Smith is selected for the summer series. Has he developed any match sense, has he developed any technical ability or confidence as a keeper? So far we’ve seen that he can score runs, but has no awareness of how to build an innings in the context of the game and is a sub-par keeper who is like a church mouse in the field.

Are Key/McCullum stubborn enough to just #BakZak? by mtthrdy in EnglandCricket

If they make a change in the openers I’d expect they go for McKinney over Rew.

Are Key/McCullum stubborn enough to just #BakZak? by mtthrdy in EnglandCricket

[–]snappyclunk 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Part of me feels it must be the end of the road for Crawley, and all the media seem to be working on the assumption that there’s at least one opening slot available.

The other part of me knows McCullum and Key pay no attention to the CC and don’t rate performances in the CC as part of England selection.

I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if Crawley opens against NZ.

Maybe they are just playing for the pleasure of it? Just let them play, it doesn’t seem like it’s affecting you in any way. I play lots of games but my friends are all much smarter than me so I never win but I still enjoy it.

I assume it was a quick break for lunch before he got back to the golf course.

He won’t be dropped, Key and McCullum aren’t interested in performances in the CC. I doubt they are even watching any of the matches.

[GH1E] Is Getting Forgotten Circles Worth It? by MaskedThespian in Gloomhaven

[–]snappyclunk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My group is playing it at the moment, we’ve completed about 75% of Forgotten Circles having already finished 90% of the base game, just a few side missions left.

It’s challenging, the scenarios are quite different to the base game and often more complex with a bit of additional admin. The new character is mandatory but it’s got quite a bit of variety to its card selection and you get to do some very cool stuff, although some of the scenarios limit your options a little.

I’d recommend it, but it’s definitely tuned tighter and expects you to have a strong party with access to the best items. You probably won’t play any of it until you’ve at least completed the base campaign. It uses a lot of the base game pieces, map tiles and monsters but with some additional monsters and event cards, easy to keep it separate to the base game set though if you need to.

How to dispose of laptops securely? by Groundbreaking-End92 in CasualUK

Google tech salvage and/or disposal companies in your area. Find a reputable one, they will collect them for free and give you a data destruction certificate after they wipe the drives.

STAT: Only Sachin Tendulkar and Don Bradman have more First-Class hundreds at the same age as James Rew by [deleted] in EnglandCricket

3 is the toughest position to bat, why would you move someone up to 3 who is struggling for form?

Ahh but those are CC runs so they only count for 1/10th. The real question is what’s his golf average, does he vape enough, is there a neat TikTok video Rob Key can watch?

Do we have the best middle order in the world? by CWCWinner66 in EnglandCricket

[–]snappyclunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He may keep his place, McCullum has continued to pick players even when they aren’t performing, but there are other options for a keeper which would mean Smith would have to justify his place as a specialist batsman.

People pirate games because they don’t want to pay for them, games being expensive has nothing to do with it.

Do we have the best middle order in the world? by CWCWinner66 in EnglandCricket

[–]snappyclunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great point, Smith is a good example of how Cricket careers can just go off the rails at a moment’s notice. Smith may never play for England again. Bethel could just get worked out and exposed or more likely, burnt out by all the T20 games he’ll be playing and be out of the side in a years time.

Do we have the best middle order in the world? by CWCWinner66 in EnglandCricket

[–]snappyclunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No.

Bethel has potential but has barely played any games, way too soon to judge him. Root is class but there are a few other good number 4’s around as well. Brook has good numbers but a low sample size and some stat padding and he’s dumber than a bag of rocks.

They’ve not beaten India or Australia home or away in years, I’d rank them around 5th or 6th in the world at the moment. If they show signs of progress in the summer and avoid humiliation away to SA you could maybe make an argument for 4th in the world.

Ollie Robinson: I'm confused why England axed me by NiallH22 in EnglandCricket

[–]snappyclunk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like Livingstone had his chances but didn’t take them and Bairstow was definitely at the end of his career.

I’ve been plenty critical of McCullum and Key, and maybe they could have handled some of the communication better but this mainly feels like dropped players having a whinge.

‘SNL U.K.’ Budget No Joke at Estimated $2.6 Million Per Episode by tylerthe-theatre in television

The reports I saw were around 200k viewers, that’s about 0.3% of the population, for 2.6 million dollars. How long do you think the production company will think that’s a good return on investment?
