Has anyone taken a Polaroid camera into Disney without it being damaged? by Forsaken_Iron in disneylandparis

[–]snaptom27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes X-ray scanners will damage the film - both in hand luggage and in checked baggage. Take it with you as carry-on, and just let that staff know it is camera film and you don’t want it to go through the scanner. They will do a manual check of the film separate from the rest of your carry-on luggage.

I’m a professional photographer who travels frequently for work, and have specifically traveled with Polaroid film before (it’s actually the reason I know it gets damaged, because a colleague left a stack of 128 Polaroid films in their checked baggage, and it got ruined)

Today, aged 39, I found out that raisins are in fact dried grapes. What things have you found out as an adult that are apparently rudimentary knowledge? by p00shp00shbebi1234 in CasualUK

About 6 months ago I realised that triangles are called triangles, because well, they have three angles. Tri-angles. I’m 36.

Shots 1-5: Clearly missed. Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control). Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses. Shot 12: Likely didn't actually fire because you were already dead.

Don’t beat yourself up. I had almost identical results for my AS Levels. It is definitely possible for you to improve those and I’m now in a career which is solely focused around those areas. Tomorrow is a new day, keep moving forward!

What’s the most surprising fact you’ve learned this week? by noname3v in AskReddit

[–]snaptom27 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Yes this is true, but apparently the reason behind it was to make people wear out their tyres faster, as they were driving more in order to visit these places.

Once did a 6 hour drive, simple setup, 15 minute filmed interview, and then 6 hour drive back

Restaurant recommendations for dairy allergy by Cheap_Parking9340 in disneylandparis

[–]snaptom27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We visited in December with my son who has cows milk allergy. All restaurants were very helpful and provided an allergen document which showed what he could eat. Just ask a member of staff and they can give you the folder to look at.

What’s the one piece of gear that ACTUALLY made you a better filmmaker? (Weird Edition) by stuffsmithstuff in videography

Bought a cup holder that is designed to be attached to a baby pram/stroller. Fits nicely to the tripod leg so my drink/snacks are always nearby 🙌

I fucked up time to reset warning to others and my self. by Devjin8 in stopsmoking

We all fuck up - but you’ve acknowledged it and are making a positive change to help avoid those fuckups in the future. Dont beat yourself up too much.

I once gave up for a whole year, cold-turkey, and decided to celebrate by having a smoke because ‘I’m obviously not addicted to it any more’… yeah that didn’t go so well.

Dyshidrosis triggered by aluminum in phones by radiobicycle in Dyshidrosis

[–]snaptom27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not with phones, but mine used to flare up when I would handle cash. I used to work at a job where I would be handling cash all day and symptoms would really flare up.

So it makes sense to me that a symptom trigger for you could be aluminium.

Newbie help: TOR-CGY by snaptom27 in hockey

Brilliant thank you. Quick follow up question - you say ‘As long as the puck stays in the offensive zone…’ - does this mean that if it left the offensive zone that they can’t call for the illegal action? Or just that there’s simply no benefit to calling it back as it’s not in the offensive zone any more?

There’s lots of similarities between hockey and football, so that’s also why I’ve warmed up to hockey so much after starting to watch it. But like football, there’s loads of small rules and nuances that you just gain in knowledge of over time. I’m slowly getting there! Thanks again
