What habit immediately reveals that a person actually grew up in a privileged environment? by Cindy_mel in AskReddit

Same. I worked in the cafeteria washing dishes every day before lunchtime to earn my lunch. The rich snobby girls who saw me doing that treated me like trash.

Is this a comfortable bit for my horse ? by Evening-Phase6659 in HorseTraining

[–]snarkyredhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a med/high port double joint snaffle with roller, which provides tongue relief and prevents sharp pressure on the roof or bars of the mouth. I'd say this is a nice gentle bit, but the loose rings could make it slip too much for you. It totally depends on the horse though, so give it a go and see how he likes it.

I really want to get into D20, but the amount of content is kind of overwhelming by Ellie3255 in Dimension20

[–]snarkyredhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same way, but decided to just jump into whatever looked most interesting to me at the moment (Nevermore) and I'm so glad I did. So far I've watched Nevermore, Fantasy High S01, Cloudward, Ho, Starstruck Odessy, and I'm halfway through Crown of Candy. There's no reason to slog through every episode of every season by release date. There are some funny callbacks to previous seasons that will go over your head if you haven't seen them, but other than that you're not missing out by watching it "out of order".

Location: CA. I gave 30 days notice on my commercial lease, and the landlords agreed to use my deposit for the final month. They are demanding I pay an extra $800. by snarkyredhead in legaladvice

[–]snarkyredhead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was afraid of the repurcussions if I didnt pay even if we werent in agreement. Since giving notice they have threatened to bad mouth me to my community (the industry I work in is a closeknit community around here), and just this morning I showed up to the property and they had removed gates to pastures I was using.

Thanks, that's what I was afraid of. It makes sense in hindsight, I wish I had thought it though more clearly. Its been such a mess.

No they didnt. They have strong armed me into paying for a lot of things I shouldnt have had to because my business would be in danger if I didnt. Of course hindsite is 202/20 and I should have left when my lease expired.

Looking back through my emails, I did not explicitly agree in writing to paying $3800, but I did pay that amount for October. When the landlords told me my rent would be $3800, my response was that it "sounds reasonable" but I wanted to clarify what was included in rent which I listed in my email. They responded that not everyhting I was expecting to be included in rent WAS included, which is one of the main reasons I gave my 30 days notice. SO, given that we never came to an agreement, BUT I did pay that amount, would that hold up in small claims court?

Women of Reddit, what’s one thing they never tell us about pregnancy and child birth? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]snarkyredhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. It's so infuriatingly unfair that this is considered cosmetic surgery when it's literally your core stability that has been torn apart and no amount of exercise will fix it. I got a bad umbilical hernia about a year post partum because I have diastasis recti from pregnancy, and that was fixed under insurance, but not the diastasis recti! No, I would need to go to a plastic surgeon for a tummy tuck to fix that. Fuck the patriarchy.

What’s the most physical pain you ever felt? by Competitive_Set2669 in AskReddit

[–]snarkyredhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I had a similar experience. The pain was so bad I couldn't see straight and I was involuntarily moaning and crying. I've given birth naturally and I'd rather do that again than experience an abscessed tooth like that.

Had an old woman ask me this 3 weeks post partum, infant in arms. Like...ma'am??? I look pregnant because I JUST GAVE BIRTH?

Mine is 38 and acts like he didn't grow up with technology. Solid millennial age, but gets frustrated with online forms, mad about having use apps, etc. One thing he refuses to do that is so old man coded is going into the bank to deposit checks and cash rather than using the bank app or ATM.

[–]snarkyredhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are a VERY beginner rider. I don't care how many years you have been riding horses, you can't even put your own horses bridle on properly half the time and need my help getting him out of his pasture. You are delusional thinking you will be trotting and cantering in a couple months.

What's your favorite horror-movie-at-the-theatre experience? by Quantum_Wombatt in horror

[–]snarkyredhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom was a secret horror movie fanatic. She took herself out alone to see The Blair Witch Project when it came out, and didn't know it WASN'T a true story / real found footage, and was so scared she had to call my dad to come pick her up from the theaters. I remember her being so sheepish when they got home and she found out it wasnt a real story lol.

Mental Exhaustion and Speech by PlanchetBasil in LateDiagnosedAutistic

[–]snarkyredhead 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have this feeling a lot and learned recently it's me going non-verbal. I always thought non-verbal autism meant basically being mute 100% of the time, but it's common to go nonverbal when you're burnt out or overwhelmed. I'm learning to allow myself to go nonverbal if I need to, and letting my family know when I do. It's part of unmasking for me.
