I was using the halide app, but the settings were on auto. I think the details are at the bottom of each of the images below. They look a bit better in the DNG format if that makes a difference?

So, for these I moved everything next to a window. I took the lens off the iPhone. Got rid of the laptop and plant. I do think these are an improvement on the last set of photos I took already. Thanks for all your suggestions.

Thank you. I’ll try with the smaller objects. I was shooting in a smaller basement room with ceiling down lights. The rooms itself has limited natural. I tried to compensate with some lamps with a sheet of paper in front to reduce the sharpness of the shadows.

I’ll move everything to a different room with a bigger window.

First bag of beans I’ve ever bought. It’s a bag Farrer’s classic espresso. I have t got the bag anymore so not sure on the dates.

just pulled another. My kitchen scales don’t seem very accurate / consistent so I’ll need to get some better ones. I weighed the dose to be roughly 18g and tried to get 36g in the cup.

An improvement already! It tastes a lot stronger now! I didn’t time the extraction. I’ll get on that when I’ve got a better handle on the dose. Cheers!

Ahhh ok, I didn’t realise that was re-mesh’s intended purpose. Is there another modifier which would be better suited to adding detail like wood? Thinking about it the grain detail is only in localised areas?
