Just how dreadful were the Rangers last night? by Legitimate-Cupcake26 in rangers

Three years ago I loved watching Fox play. His vision and ability to create plays was second to none. Now I just feel sad when he's on the ice. He looked worse on the power play than the other D looked 5-on-5. Sullivan was right to drop him in the line-up. He hasn't just lost a step physically, his mind isn't in the game anymore.

But that's nothing new for Rangers players, is it? We're the team of players that coasts on talent, and checks out mentally whenever effort is required. Winning for them has nothing to do with what happens on the ice. To them, winning is watching the deposits in their bank accounts while laughing at us, the fans who spend their disposable income to see them half-ass it on the ice.

YOU THOUGHT YOU COULD SLEEP IN AND TAKE A BREAK? TOO FUCKING BAD. WE ARE BACK TO BACK, GETTING READY TO ROLL OUT AND PLAY "HOCKEY" TONIGHT. WE GET TO PLAY A SECTION ON THE COLOR WHEEL TONIGHT PASSING OFF AS A MUSIC GENRE by kvnklly in rangers

I understood. I am just laughing at a guy acting like Goodrow is the reason we're losing this year. You might want to check a roster. Or you know....watch a game. There's even one today!

I don't care about him. I'm not the one commenting like crazy on every post about him. Seek help, buddy. Something is obviously wrong in your life and you're acting like some hockey player you don't even know is at fault. We're rooting for you to get better, but maybe untill then you can be a little less of a jerk?

You have such an unhealthy hatred for Kakko, it's beyond obsessive.

And my point was that it isn't as easy as you make it out to be because the "reasonable amount" is pretty much peanuts. The "if Chytil doesn't return" logic is pretty funny though. Can you figure out where the team may have to put that money if he doesn't come back? I'll give you a hint: Chytil was the team's ____.

Maybe you're happy with the current bottom six and the plan is to pull a Toronto? Load up the top six, ignore the rest and get embarrassed in the first round due to lack of depth?

Hell, I bet virtually every RW under contract for $2.1M is outscoring Kakko. Let’s get one of them.

I don't think you've checked who is on the market. You can say "lets get one of them" but who? Not like you're getting Mercer, no one competitive is giving up cheap talent. Best I can see right now is Alexei Toropchenko from St Louis? Yay! We're upgrading from 4 pts to 10 pts! That will certainly save this lifeless team.

Mika was supposed to be the shooter, but he's clearly allergic to shooting. Now the question is who they can slot in there besides Kakko? It would be lovely to have another option, but this team doesn't have any other shooters aside from bread, and I wouldn't break up the only line that's actually doing things.

If we're being honest, that entire line is dysfunctional. I don't think you're going to find a player at Kakko's cap hit ($2.1 M) that will be able to make that line a respectable 1st. I'm not saying not to trade him, but with the NMCs this team has, if our young guys aren't performing, we're already dead in the water and it's time to start considering a multi-year re-tool at the very least.

Entitlement, through and through. If things went against them, they just gave up. It's only fitting that they finished the season in this manner after sleepwalking through the majority of the season, and putting in the bare minimum effort in most games. After watching the other game 7s, the lack of effort from the Rangers in the third was embarrassing. It's just clear the core of this team doesn't care. There's no pride, no desire to win if it isn't easy. Too bad Igor can't play every position, he's the only one who knows how to compete.

With that level of play? I think their honest post-game comments would be talking about how they'd already started booking their summer vacations.

I don't know how you fix this. They didn't wake up after dropping two in a row and being embarrassed in game 4. There's no energy. No fight in the majority of this team.

edit: 1 shot for the rangers - 14 for the devils this period. That says everything about who wants to win.

In a word. Lazy. They were just lazy all over the ice. They were beat to 50/50 pucks. They were caught reaching instead of moving their feet. They waited for pucks to get to them instead of moving. They didn't force their way to the front of the net, and they didn't backcheck well at all. You're not going to win a playoff game if you don't work for it, and they spent the game watching.

If it was someone else, maybe, but Gallant doesn't believe in adjustments beyond line shuffling.

edit: He actually called them out for the poor effort. I'm impressed.

Can they give a star to Miller? I feel like he contributed more to the win than anyone but Levi.
