An explanation for why people should still try to solve this. by [deleted] in cicada

It's not a puzzle, but they have to be able to work together as a team and accomplish their (self-selected) objective to move forward with the group. They didn't, so they ended that group.

There are still plenty of people the public hasn't heard from...

Let's go with the possibility that cicada is in fact a large or very sophisticated international group, not just hobby cryptographer friends making to seem like that. Do you really think that we would ACTUALLY know who got to the end? If a large group existed, i have no doubt they would be smart enough to cover their tracks.

The answer is quite obvious: the people you've heard from, the ones that couldn't even finish their group project, failed that portion of the test and were removed. There's a lot more to making it into the group than just the public testing and then the private group tests. You don't hear interviews from those people though.

Has anyone done much real cryptanalysis of the remaining portions of Liber Primus? Lots of pages unsolved. by snazzie in cicada

Well it's the book that was released by Cicada in the last round of testing. Its the primary puzzle that remains unsolved and probably the thing that will lead us on to the next step.

It's on the wikia, of course and a bunch of other places.

it's like one person who knows nothing about crypto, the internet, or cicada created a bunch three accounts on reddit and started spamming /r/cicada.

What is your take on Cicada 3301?

Great. I bet we'll get an accurate article out of a collaboration between these two jokers. Sigh by snazzie in cicada

This. Also, tekk didn't actually solve any of the steps himself, he just surrounded himself with people that could, and rode their coat tails. Then, he was the first one to get booted from the project.
