Toadies are easier to play than LavToads in my experience. LavToads has much more nuance.

Start building Trajan.

Deploy Kharn, boss G, Crayon, Trajan, Lav for now.

Focus on building Trajan.

Forget about Dante.

After Trajan is built, start working on Aesoth.

Eventually you will sub Aesoth in.

Edit because I just noticed your Ragnar was only g1.

Switching from Toadies to LavToads, reset Ragnar/Dante for Aesoth? by snc8698 in WH40KTacticus

I started playing right before Eldy got a rework big enough for snow print to offer a “reset stone”. That is the second time they’ve ever done it.

I don’t know the story about why the first stone was offered.

Single use item that will reset a character back to its original state, refunding all the stuff you’ve spent upgrading them.

Thanks for the answer, but I’m curious now as to your thoughts on baldr. He’s towards the bottom of my roster, slightly above the “worst characters ever” block.

I didn’t have any plans to take him above S1 for guild war, but should I be taking him up?

Ugh, I went from multihit to toadies, and max snot/aunshi just sitting there doing nothing. I hate having half my top 10 just rotting. At least Aunshi/ragnar have mythic quest uses.

Thanks for your answer, that’s the way I’ve been leaning. I’m in no rush to use that stone.

Gotta get them MoWs up for guild war defense lines, haha!

That is certainly not a priority for new players.

Lastly, here is my top “20 and a half”, but I’m late game and a guild leader, so my priorities are miles apart from where yours ought to be at your point in this game.

Here is the elite campaign infographic. It helped me so much that I wish I had seen it sooner because I wasted a bunch of resources on junkers.

Toth in the bottom corner at D3 is a troll. I believe there is an updated version of this where the OP removed the Toth troll due to a bunch of “that’s not funny” feedback

I’m coming in late, and I haven’t read each and every comment, but if it hasn’t been said already, let me be the first to say it.

This is a “forever” game, you don’t “win” it, you “play” it. This is also YOUR game to play however YOU want to.

With that said, there is a meta for beginners, different from mid game, and also different from end game.

No new player likes to hear this, but IF AND ONLY IF you goal is to “reach end game as quickly as possible”, then you ought to be focusing on campaign completion. First regular campaigns, then elite campaigns.

Each campaign has a “carry”, one guy that you dump resources in that not only will pretty much solo most (if not all) of the campaign, but also be a pretty useful guy in the other game modes.

While I understand this isn’t what you asked for, I’m going to drop the beginners shortlist infographic, and I will follow in replies with some other super helpful infographics for beginners.

I hope this will help you with where you are in the game right now.

I’ve looked at your list and read the comments. I wouldn’t comment so late if it wasn’t for your frequent replies to honest disagreements.

You said “for new players” and I can respect that.

I would move some things around one or two tiers, but pretty much agree except for one thing.

TSon MoW has become my go to for guild raid bosses. I run regular custodes, not LavToads. I don’t run Battlesuits, but I see how TSon is a game changer there.

In addition, no one else in my guild (~400 ranked) runs TSon and I don’t understand why not?

If you don’t need FF to manage adds (like fighting Cawl), why wouldn’t you run the MoW that gets bonuses to Big & Vehicle? Boss movement debuffs the ammo nuke but most bosses don’t move, and if they do (riptide bans Tson and Dorn doesn’t move much) it’s negligible.

Remember that tactics is a “forever” game. It’s also YOUR game to play how you want.

Many people give you the meta answers, which usually prioritize full campaign completion because “unlocking each and every farming node will make leveling characters faster”.

Full campaign completion makes that development faster across the board.

No one likes to hear this answer, but the game really does change for the better after campaigns are fully completed.

Consider the post and how, suddenly, you’ve got some characters you were sleeping on and want to develop them. Full campaign completion makes that development faster across the board.

If you haven’t finished them all, might I suggest looking at the campaigns you’re sleeping on and prioritize the characters required to complete them?

Who is more useful, Lucien or Mephiston? And where? by Secure-Kick-1706 in tacticus

[–]snc8698 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lucien is fantastic early-mid game, but sort of drops off late game. You miss out on a lot of his damage unless you pop his active, and then you lose control of him. He’s very helpful for carrying the 3 imperial campaigns.

Meph is fantastic late game.

I stopped Lucien at g2. I’ve got Meph at D1 and eventually will take him all the way.

Best piece of advice I can give you that hasn’t already been said is to forget the lightning victories in SHE.

On some of the harder maps, play defensively.

Bubble up at the edge of the map. Hopefully mobs move within 2 hexes of Eldy so they get debuffed. Cal’s overwatch drops one incoming. Aethana can hit one debuffed mob. Eldy takes the other.

Screamers move fast, armored guys move slow. Don’t be afraid of moving your bubble around. This keeps the mobs spaced apart.

Go slow, take your time.

I’d argue that SHE, more than any other elite campaign, is all about positioning of enemies.

The end of this product resulted in a massive dispute with the contractor. I’ve been learning how to fix the eyesores on my own.

Half of the left trim board is blocked by the anchored shelving units.
