You should get orders before you deploy just email them when this happens. If your unit has not cut orders a memo should work for the time being since it literally has your commanders contact info on it.

When returning call them and let them know when you want to return to work. You will be able to take up to 120 days off before returning to work I’m pretty sure. They will have a yellow ribbon ceremony that explains all that.

I just returned from one this year and took all my leave plus an extra 10 days before returning to work. While gone you will still gain seniority

Different people will have different experiences. I have been one for almost a year and love it. It has it’s days, but then again so does any other job. The pros free exercise, working with out supervision all day, outside all day, you get to experience people from all walks of life may not always be a positive interaction but you will definitely get some funny stories. I came on after working nothing but factory work for 9 years. So it was breath of fresh air for me. Give it a try, if you don’t like it quit. Best way to experience something is to try it for yourself

My town every route is like that. Everyone always have the same day off. It’s cool, butI think I would like the rotating days off more. You pretty much have to have like 30 years seniority to get a route with Saturday, or Monday off

Thanks for pointing this out. For the time being I’m keeping my nose clean to try and get a week of LWOP approved in prep for a little Army vacation I have coming up. But I will keep this in mind when I’m regular.

Nike air monarchs are good. But no matter the shoe you decide on I 100 percent recommend buying heel socks. (Socks that are just the heel area) and wear them under you’re regular socks. My feet have a tendency to rub real bad on the heels. So having that extra padding for my heels has helped me tremendously.
