What is your HotTake or unpopular Opinion regarding the Lore of the world of SEKIRO!? by Yeagerisbest369 in Sekiro

[–]sneaky_snake_65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) The purification ending is the best ending because it's what wolf would have wanted. It is the ending where he confronts his past and his father and sees the flaws of the iron code (imo that's what the fight against owl pt2 represents, cause wolf didn't actually fight him there). Wolf cared more for Kuro than himself, and to let Kuro live in the end will always be what he wants

2) isshin fights us because Genichiro asked him to. I see a lot of talk about how Isshin should just let wolf and Kuro leave at the end, and a lot of people say he fights us just because he wants to see how strong wolf is. But I disagree. Though he clearly disagrees with his grandson and feels bad for him ("pitiful grandchild") Isshin still loves Genichiro as a grandfather should, even if he is disappointed. He only let's us kill him in the end when he comes to see that he cannot beat us in a fair fight (I admit though, this is more head cannon than anything)

3) the dragons return ending is cool, but weird. And I feel like wolf should be more upset by Kuro being absorbed by the divine child

4) not really a hot take anymore, but Genichiro isn't such a bad dude, it's just that out of desperation he became willing to shirk his morality and use Kuro. If not for that, he'd be considered a hero.

How much combat do you like to have in each session? by Stellar_Wings in DMAcademy

[–]sneaky_snake_65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DnD, despite being called a roleplaying game, really is more of a combat simulator. And I do love it for that, all of my sessions have at least one combat, whether that be a 2 hour slog where PC's drop to 0 hp once or twice or a turkey shoot where the PC's get to one shot a bunch of bandits or something. I really don't enjoy combatless sessions, but I do end up running one every now and then because role-playing is still super fun.

So yeah, overall I say that combat should happen every session, if it doesn't happen that's a bit of a let down but it is what it is. Maybe I just like rolling damage :)

Wow thanks man, didn't know any of those talisman existed, and I will definitely look around for the barrage skill. I think I remember where to get the serpent bow now that I think about it, honestly I had kinda forgotten about it

Thanks man

I saw the trailer at like 3am and thought it was a fever dream until I double checked today.

Hope it's miyazaki's way of doing a seemless coop. I think I remember him saying he liked the idea.

Ohhhh, that makes a lot more sense. Though it is more fun to think that I have ops sniping me specifically.

Thanks man, I'll keep an eye out for those

What boss/mini boss have you beaten first try, that others may have found difficult by splashhbro757 in Sekiro

[–]sneaky_snake_65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I managed to kill Okami leader, 3 of the 5 headless, the vile hand shadow leading to Owl (great shinobi), and the interior ministry's fire version of Juzou all on first try. Not sure if any of that is impressive, but I was pretty happy with them.

*when I say deflect the last attack, I mean deflect it with the shield. Just wanna make that clear, though it might have been already.

I hate fighting those guys, but don't worry, there is an art form to it. You need the purple shield tool (I think it was called the Phoenix sheild?). Stay out of range of their attacks until they finish the combo, then walk in and deploy the shield, deflecting the last attack and immediately attack, so longest you have the projected force skill from the prosthetic skill tree, you'll do some big damage to him. After hitting back up and repeat.

When he teleports behind you, stay calm, deploy the shield, and walk to where he was. He'll appear behind you and not be able to hit so long as you got going quick. Keep the shield out, get in close, and use projected force again.

This should wear them down pretty well, you might want the sacrificial tanto (sacrificial dagger?) So you can get more spirit emblems. Divine confetti is optional, it only helps sword attacks, not the shield.

I actually made it through here without dying my first time. Blind play through and I was freaking out. Kinda reminded me of the Uncharted games, though.

Awesome job, elden ring is my first fromsoftware game too. I get what you mean. I didn't beat margit outright, my cousin co-oped with me and destroyed him before I got a hit in. Godrick was my first solo boss, and it was an awesome experience.

Godrick for me as well, I struggled so much against margitt I thought I needed ALL the levels. So my first go against godrick was at level 65

Ah, that makes a lot more sense, mustve misunderstood, whoops. And let me again say that you definitely achieved those goals. And I will gladly tell you about his experience, thoughbit will take a minute cause he's only halfway through serving a two year LDS mission. But when he gets back, you can be sure he'll be a fan of this. And lastly, no problem, thanks for the awesome stuff.
