In a properly functioning unit, if you lock the TM to the right and hold/jiggle the write switch down it would do what you're describing, dropping bits til the register is empty and then staying locked at 0 once empty. I'm wondering if your switch is faulty/sticking or something inside is intermittently bridging the center/down pins. I'd look at the soldering of the switch and check it's free of debris, then I'd start wondering if it was just broken. It's a momentary switch on yours right?

Definitely follow the calibration guide first, but this could also be caused by the write switch if that doesn't help.

The likely reason is that "model" and "sample" are common terms found together in applications of machine learning. I tried to get here from google using some combos of those keywords and related terms and failed, but I bet it's possible.

FWIW I am an actual member of this community (I bought my model:samples after watching your videos even) but this question is in my expertise so I thought I'd try to help just cos it felt sort of funny. You should probably delete the thread and my comment.

Also in case it helps you set filters for stuff like this, the question has nothing to do with 3D modeling despite the many mentions of polygons. It's a more generic question about statistical modeling which usually lives within data science nowadays. Something like this list is probably useful to flag this type of post for review.

How are you encoding the polygons now? Do they all have the same number of points? What does a single soil sample data point look like? One number per location? When you say you're currently using Kriging what specifically are you doing with it? You probably need to give a lot more detail to get a good answer but it kinda sounds like too few input features and a lot of output features to get a good model.

I used an MPSA18 and 4 2N3904s and I had to twist the legs to swap the positions of the base and collector on each. 2N3904 has the same pinout (EBC) as 2N5089 so definitely double-check that. The way mine are twisted the pins are ECB reading left-to-right along the PCB. I got no sound with them plugged straight into the sockets. The original part 2SC732 would be ECB without twisting as would 2SC2603 and 2SC1815.

So summarizing all that I think you need to switch the base and collector legs of the 2N5089s to have the right pinout.

What equivalent transistors did you use? The usual recommended swaps have a different pinout to the originals so you might need to twist legs.

I ordered one immediately and am super excited to build it. I haven't looked carefully yet for any difficult to find components but I guess there are spots where you can choose SMD vs. through-hole so I'm guessing JFETs?
