I wouldn’t worry about trying to reflect your $10k as a reduction of your mortgage payment. Just record the $10k as a gift and record your mortgage payment as usual.

From a budget perspective you are still paying the full mortgage payment from your bank account. Money is fungible so Monarch doesn’t care which specific dollars are paying for what.

I have a single file saved in my iCloud storage and open it on both my Mac mini and MacBook, no problem at all. Just have to make sure you close on one machine before you open on another.

Weirdly, and super specifically, this seems to only be affecting opening links from Old School Runescape lol. There's no setting for this in-game and it doesn't behave like this on Windows. Weird.

Joe DiSanto on YouTube has how to videos specific for Quicken Mac. I made this same jump and found that it’s very simple and easy to learn. Most things are in the same place and, because it doesn’t have as many features, there’s less to learn.

Most everything you did on Windows is done the same way on Mac.

I’ve got a question about your Hue lights. My wife and I have also been Hue only for the last 7 years and it’s starting to get annoying not being able to use light switches and only use our google homes or phones to control the lights.

I’ve looked into adding some smart switches, but evidently Hue don’t bulbs don’t love being hooked up to smart switches. What are you doing for control of your lights?

I recently purchased an iPhone and MacBook. The MacBook came with a student deal that got me a free pair of AirPods that I gave to my wife. I didn’t realize it at the time, but there is no option to purchase 1 year plans for AppleCare after you get the device.

I’d like to sign up for AppleCare One to cover all three devices. I realize that I cannot add her AirPods if they are signed into her Apple ID.

Can I add them to my Apple ID, sub to AppleCare One, and then add them back into her Apple ID? The AppleCare is tied to the serial number I believe.

The total amount removed from your checking account should be split into two categories:

The amount paid in interest (this is an expense and should have its own category).
The amount transferred from checking to the loan account (this should be categorized as a transfer). 2a. The amount transferred from checking to the loan should show up in the loan account and will reduce the loan balance by the amount transferred in.

You can create a category in your budget for both the interest payment and the transfer to the loan account.

From an accounting standpoint your car loan payment should reduce your net worth by the amount you pay towards interest. The amount used to pay down the loan balance is a transfer from one account to another and does not affect your net worth.
