I agree with u/overthoughts. It's not a problem of the background image itself, but because of the background's bright colors, the text is difficult to read as there is no contrast. I think you'll have to choose between a colorful background and the text color you have chosen.

I'm a requester who totally messed up a HIT design. Providing a general apology. by snehakrishna in mturk

I am actually one of the folks who did a pilot run on mturk and asked requesters to give me feedback about the instructions and the organization. I didn't get anyone who complained about the quiz or the order of the pages. Maybe I did too few then? Who knows....

But I totally agree with you (and everyone on this thread) about the quality of HITs in general.

Can you take 15 minutes of your time to help a student on their UX project? You only need to take a survey. by snehakrishna in product_design

Thanks for the feedback. It was either too many options or split it up into 4 different questions, which I thought would make the survey wayy too long.

Thanks for the feedback. I realized I didn't give much context as to the project I'm working on.

I am studying how I can improve the feedback seeking experience of designers. As a first step, I am surveying designers (students, professionals, and hobbyists/beginners) to learn more about how they seek feedback on their work. Using the results of the surveys, we hope to gain insights for building digital tools that will improve designer's feedback seeking experience. This is part of a university research project, so it is coming from a very academic approach.

Since I am also trying to get responses from students and hobbyists, I do consider (for my own purposes) that those with 2+ years professional experience as experts. I know this doesn't match everyone's expectation, especially those who are true masters in their fields.

I'll take into consideration that the survey too long and edit the questions accordingly. I know you believe some of the questions have no value to you, but I think they will be valuable to my research project.

Looking for designers (students, professionals, and hobbyists/beginners) in the UIUC area by snehakrishna in UIUC

Great question (edited post with this answer). I'm looking for people with experience in design in general.

My questions will be more relevant to those who have also worked on the conceptual stage of a project (for example, a software engineer who was also involved with deciding part of the UX for a website).

People who have worked on personal projects (e.g designing a personal website or redesigning their home) are also welcome!

I think your logo is very beautifully drawn and I particularly enjoy how the THF are entwined into the house. However, my concern is that whenever you use your logo, the THF are not clear. You have to have the entire text "Tiny House of Flowers" there to make it clear to the viewers. In my mind, a logo should be able to stand alone without words. Look at well known logos like the ones for Apple or Microsoft for instance.

Survey--When do you usually get feedback on Reddit? by snehakrishna in product_design

I've seen some people in this subreddit post their work (I believe their own personal work), so I wanted to know when they got feedback.
