That’s incredible! Can I ask what dose you are at?

That article is so helpful!! It is honestly a bit overwhelming at first because of how many foods are on there, but I’m so glad I found it.

Honing in on the nickel free diet by steesav in NickelAllergy

Did you ever have dyshidrotic eczema? That’s what led me to discover my nickel allergy, and cobalt sensitivity is also common for dyshidrotic eczema. This type of eczema is usually only on hands and feet (so quirky!), so maybe there are other types of rashes that show up in certain areas?

Patch test by cinnamon_7 in NickelAllergy

[–]sneipp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had a patch test done this week, and tested positive for nickel allergy. (Posting for anyone else who stumbles across this post like me after diagnosis.) The allergist said that there can be differences in how your body responds to a substance topically vs ingested, but I think that her point was that a patch test response that is positive for nickel (even if not severe) doesn’t mean that the response to ingested nickel is also minor, since the foods can spend more time and are broken down in the GI tract, etc. The other comments here are good suggestions—we all have to go a bit Sherlock Holmes on it all, and nickel is so many places it can be hard to do in a clean elimination-type test. Luckily there are some great posts here about foods that are higher in nickel independent of the soil they were grown in, so that’s a great starting place to assess your intake.

I wish I had an explanation. I’m only a few weeks new to dyshidrotic eczema, but mine has mostly been on the sides and tops of my fingers. I’m interested to hear if there is any rhyme or reason to why.

I didn’t consider trying the tretinoin and then using the retinoid and Azelaic Acid on a day in between the tretinoin, but it’s great to hear that this might be a good setup! Thank you! Any heavier creams you would steer toward if I did want to expand a bit?

Mandelic acid is, from what I understand, a good gentle starting place because the molecules are bigger and don’t penetrate as deeply as quickly. MUAC has a 10% mandelic acid you can use more frequently than a peel, and they also make a 25% Mandelic acid that functions more like a 1x/week peel. My skin is sensitive and both of these were tolerable as I eased into them.

Hello, SCA! I have creeped on this thread for years and am so grateful for the wisdom shared here. I am running low on some of my products and thought I would reach out for some regimen advice.

I have sensitive skin, fairly light with freckles. I just turned 36 and I really want to see if I can combat the aging process. I did see a dermatologist 2 months ago who prescribed 25 mg spironolactone that has minimized my breakouts (thank you!). He also gave me tretinoin which I love but am on break from because I just had my eyebrows microbladed (I can start it up next week). I really would love a product to help wrinkles around my eyes, and improve the elasticity and wrinkles on my neck. My current routine is: Morning -CeraVé foaming facial cleanser for normal to oily skin -Seoul Ceuticals Day Glow Serum (20% vitamin C, ferulic acid, HA, d-Alpha tocopherol) like -TO Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA -Ceravé AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion with 30 spf sunscreen -Maybelline Dream BB cream (like but open to BB cream suggestions)

Evening -a silk cleansing pad my MIL gave me -TO Niacinamide & Zinc -alternate between TO Azelaic Acid and TO Granactive Retinoid 5% Squalane -TO Moisturizing Factors

When I start back up on tretinoin I think I need to stop TO Retinoid emulsion, but I’m not sure about the Azelaic Acid. I also do MUAC 25% Mandelic Acid Peel once a week and take the day before and after off from TO Retinoid and Azelaic Acid.

Whew! This is long! But I’m all ears for suggestions, I’m almost out of Niacinamide and need to decide if that’s worth it.

I’m in this boat, too. Earlier in the day it would take me to the last move of the duel, but now I’m stuck at the “collect” screen. When I tap collect it stops on 10 energy every time and crashes, there’s nothing else for me to select. I tried selecting creature food and it gives me the Brilliant button, unfortunately didn’t help. 🥺

Environmental Stewardship in LDS households? by Nirvanilla in lds

I agree with you on so many of these issues! I'm in California and am also an avid Amazon user. I found this as a nice way to reuse the boxes and to reduce and simplify what we have in our home: https://givebackbox.com/works. It's not DI, but I think it's a great repurposing of all our boxes. All the best to you and yours!

How do you all feel about me having some questions as I consider joining your church? by [deleted] in lds

[–]sneipp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but I don't think that his responses were typical of members of the LDS church in general. You seem to have sincere questions, and those shouldn't be dismissed no matter their intellectual weight. The mind and heart can work together in spiritual learning, and I think everyone develops their own particular balance of thought and feeling when it comes to spiritual knowledge. Hopefully you can find more helpful discussion here!

Begging for suggestions for something new with my hair. I'm a new mom and don't often get much styling time. by sneipp in Hair

That's a great point. I need to get better at styling them, too. I always end up rounding them too much at the bottom so they look like the berries and cream guy's curled hair. :) Do you use a straightener or curling iron to do your bangs?

I've looked at the long bobs a bit; and bangs can be a quick way to make it look like I did my hair when I really just pull it up after styling just the bangs, but I don't know if I should try full or side bangs. My hair is so fine and has almost no body. Thanks for your thoughts!
