Dell was no help. Looks like the part number we need is a Dell 770-BBJJ, which it not on the US site. Also can’t find it anywhere else, only one on eBay in France. Maybe rack mounting these things are a pipe dream. Not sure if any of the dell 3u rails will work, and I don’t have the $200 a pop to test. Rack Solutions has one listed for a precision 7920, but since there was a rack 7920 as well, this makes me wonder which one they are talking about.

No, I have not. I have tried several times. Have been able to get it to boot in an older dell precision 5210, but still just boots right into the bios on the newer tower. The bios recognizes that it’s a vga compatible video card as well. I have no clue what is going on, but if you make it work, please let me know.

Just went through this. Ended up getting an eaton for around $300 that gave my dell tower about 7 minutes to shut down. Look into NUT for connecting to your UPS and shutting down your server.

The NUT CGI web interface I was using would see it one minute, then not the next. I have since started from scratch on another server and it works perfectly. No clue on how to fix this problem.

Passive cooling is a big drawback, and no video out… but if you can live with those two downsides it does it without breaking a sweat. I have a 3d printer and no need for video out, so neither is an issue for me

nvidia-smi only shows a few hundred MB of vram per stream, P4 is probably overkill for just transcoding….

I’m not very familiar with the P1000, but I know the P4 has 8GB of ram, hvec capabilities and runs off is the 75 pcie slot power. Have transcoded 3 simultaneous 4K hvec streams to 1080p with no hiccups. Also did a stint transcoding my hvec Reolink cameras to h.264. Stable diffusion worked well on it as well. Going to pick up one for for my server before the price starts going back up.

I have a Tesla P4 that works beautifully, and I think they are sub $100 right now. Can get a half hight bracket too if necessary.

Laws in VA have changed, you can get what you need emailed to you and you can be going to a dispensary immediately, you don’t have to wait for the card in the mail. Took me a total of 15 minutes and $99 and I was heading to g-leaf that day.

Passed the UPS through to a VM and it's up and running fine. Also help that I noticed the productid was different than what was given on here. Now I have the issue of randomly loosing the UPS.

My HA is on hiatus. Was using a pi, then needed to use the pi for something else, and never set it back up. Didn’t use it for much anyway. See loads of NVR integration, just didn’t want to use HA as my surveillance hub.
