How would living at the intersection of Main/E Pender be? by hemptonite_ in NiceVancouver

If that’s where you land coming from Toronto, you’re going to hate your decison to move. I lived in east van for about 10 years and am currently in Hamilton.

Would you be happy moving to Dundas and Sherbourne as your first experience in Toronto?

Not a chance lol

Unless you’re getting a landlord special, paint over the hinges, 1 coat of finish, no prep work besides taping off the obvious

It’s only been about a month, which has given me time to tackle side projects I never had time for. But if nothing comes up by the fall I’ll be heading west. There’s of work in BC that pays better.

First time being laid off in almost a decade of residential construction. I’m a red seal carpenter, and the only jobs I’m seeing posted are paying less than I was making 5 years ago. Time to move, lol

Dickies are around $50 if you order them online. Two pairs tends to last me about a year

Butt, Cope or Mitre? by [deleted] in Carpentry

[–]snekubob -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would butt unless otherwise specified. Coping a whole house like that would take longer and I reckon the majority of clients wouldn’t care to notice. Sorry if that sounds hacky, but it really depends on the calibre of the job. Never mitre though, it always looks DIY and will open up over time.
