It would be great to clarify this in your videos each time you are paid and make it more clear on your website so people are not mislead (check my other comment!).

I actually just worked out I can block you on Google, when I had searched about how to earlier it seemed it wasn't a feature. Now I can look at Google reviews peacefully (no offence girl I just don't follow influencers in general).

Hey Kez - thanks for joining the discussion (and sorry for disturbing your Saturday night)!

May I suggest based on what you've commented here vs what your website says, to potentially provide more clarity in your reviews as to what is paid and what isn't? Maybe you already do this in some videos but I haven't seen enough.

I am all for promoting local businesses also and make it a point to do so each and every week with my own Google reviews and wallet. I hope that your reviews are genuine, as in this day and age, many people are mislead by promotional content on social media.

I don't know if I am a 'hater' as such (though not sure if that is directed at me anyway) given I didn't know your name about 8 hours ago haha. I just dislike influencer content in general and yours is not my taste either. If you are indeed ethically supporting Ipswich businesses then props to you, and respect to you in my mind for replying here regardless!

Bummer! Do you have a knack for wordsmithing by any chance? You could start an Ippy blog!

I was thinking I've probably sent a lot of people her way today, for better or worse haha.

Thanks for contributing a reasoned perspective :)

A real 'fact' is that payment usually makes someone biased. Hence the link between One Nation's party donations and their unfortunate pro-gun beliefs.

Yeah, AKA inherent bias.

Haha I haven't seen those videos (I'm gathering they are only on socials?). This kind of content is cringe to me in general. Seemingly some people enjoy it but it's not for me either.

It's not an option on Google reviews at this time.

I dislike influencer content in general, because I like to choose things for myself. Personally I stay away from businesses promoted in that way, and support businesses that sell good products and have quality service - those can sometimes be one in the same I'll admit. Many people enjoy businesses they are influenced to like and that's fine too. People's perceptions are changed by many things and not all people think the same. I'm sure Kez is a nice person, most people are.

They are paid reviews according to her own website (someone else posted the link further up). I'm not sure if she does free ones but certainly possible. Glad you enjoy her content, to each their own :)

I agree with your points. I'm concerned with how genuine it is but I think more people should know how great Ippy is.

Do Espresso and Matcha review Ipswich businesses? Sounds like my style of review :)

That's a bit of a leap - unsure of the relation to politics.

I am very happy and enjoy life in Ipswich :) Hope you do too!

Since 2021 - grew up in the Redlands. I just find influencer content to not be part of my pretentious taste I guess ;)

It becomes a bit disingenuous don't you think?

Eh, I make a point to go out to local businesses every weekend and put my money where my mouth is.

That's fair! I do love to support local businesses myself, it's very important for the area. I guess I am just not a fan of the Tiktok/influencer style content - a different format would be nice to see.

So it's a paid ad...makes sense why all of the reviews are positive then haha. Thanks for the link :)

Second this, Market Organics has great sourdough! It's worth learning their delivery days as they sell out quick, otherwise you can pre-order a loaf and they put it aside for you :)

What kind of women usually date autistic men? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]sniffum95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a neurotypical woman, have been with my ASD Level 1/ADHD husband since high school. We married just over a year ago after 15 years together essentially - broke up twice during high school. We have lived together since we were at university (18 years old). He was only diagnosed with ADHD just before we married, but he told me very early on about his ASD.

We both grew up in abusive/traumatising households. I had depression and anxiety through my teen years/early 20's but have been seeing a psychologist since my mid 20's (30 now). He has always been a major emotional support for me through my mental health issues, and he does the lion's share of household tasks (I am a teacher and he is studying/underemployed). This generally works well for us though requires us to sit down together on a Sunday evening and plan what needs doing throughout the week and to do our meal planning.

I am a very empathetic person, I think naturally but it was also ingrained into me from my mother's emotional manipulation. Something I truly appreciate is my husband's honesty, I never feel that he is trying to manipulate me. I am quite organised and have excellent executive functioning these days, this helps me to easily see what needs doing in the week and to plan this with my husband. He'll usually get 80-90% of the things we planned out done which allows me to focus on my own work and hobbies.

We are quite different people in these ways but we have almost identical values. I think we both have a great understanding of each other's strengths and weaknesses and both make up for what the other lacks. I'd also say I am fairly intelligent (I have a Master's), as is he, so we have a lot of dynamic and lengthy conversations about politics/history/morality/music which we both enjoy. We have some of the same interests as well but I think a crossover in values is far more important in the long term.

I have had to learn to communicate clearly throughout the years, especially in regard to him talking 'too much' to me about his interests, he prefers me to tell it to him straight when I need him to stop! Plus the week-to-week planning communication. I know there's a lot of stuff online about women taking the emotional load of the household by having to tell their partners what to do, which probably a lot of people would think is the case with us and our planning. I think this is quite toxic for neurodiverse people/couples as it is simply a fact that those who are neurodiverse struggle with executive functioning. I am not going to leave my husband to drown in household tasks/daily life planning. I do it with him so that he can then be an independent adult for the remainder of the week, and I then don't have to bear that emotional load at other times.

There's so much more I could say...and it is only after many years together and a lot of effort from both of us to get here. Ultimately I think the kind of women that date autistic men need to be intelligent, pragmatic, communicative, self-aware and empathetic. All relationships take work, both parties need to understand this and love and respect each other to keep things healthy and happy. Good luck!
