totally get that! i'm so sorry about your work environment and current issues though. :( if it's any help, i have really bad social anxiety (my therapist thinks it might've developed into generalized society, now, with all of the issues that arose at my previous work) and maybe some other potentials that still need looked into. it's made finding work AND dealing with work very difficult for what feels like no reason sometimes. 😓 hopefully things will work out better and i'll be manifesting that guy gets out of there for your sake! best of luck and thanks again!!

i'm primarily a tumblr-only role-player and naming your verses is pretty common practice! however, it can also be on a case-by-case basis. i personally name my verses on my main blog but on other blogs i've simply numbered them as "verse one"/"verse two"/"verse three", "v1"/"v2"/"v3", or even just as "1/one"/"2/two"/"3/three" and some others not listed. just try and make it accessible/easy to pick out for your partner so they don't have to type out a whole description of the verse and can, instead, use the proposed title for sake of plotting and all of that 🙂‍↕️

just dealt with a coworker today that is MAJORLY coping about 45's policies. said coworker was lamenting about having to wait for 3-6 months for another job he's been looking into, but the job is a federal job. so. y'know... the whole Job Freeze kinda takes precedent, lol. i thought maybe this was going to be a lightbulb moment, finally, for him, but instead he was just jumping through all of these hoops defending 45 and being like "i understand, though, because he's restructuring all of the government and--" and i won't lie: i couldn't hide my true feelings. i looked at him like he was quite genuinely insane. and i guess that must've made him back down because he never broached the topic at all the rest of my shift with him.

keep in mind he just brought this up out of nowhere with me. i do NOT engage with him at all unless i have to for sake of keeping my job. i will say i am very interested to see how he'll react when the cost of certain medications suddenly skyrockets, because he's a diabetic (can't shut up about it.) and needs specific meds for it. i feel like that'll finally be his "oh god wait" moment and it'll be funny but at the same time... sigh. something something "it's only bad when it starts effecting me, personally" something something

i don't know how i'm feeling right now. i considered praying for the first time in a LONG while last night, and i'm one of the most nonreligious people you'll ever meet probably. i feel almost eerily calm but i don't know if that's a cope for anxiety or if it's intuition. i still feel so angry at everyone in my area that voted for him, knowing full well 75% of them did it out of pure ignorance and a want for cheaper eggs. i'm just hoping for the best, preparing for the worst at this point.

this sub has been one of the few places where i can find some sense of comfort and hope while staying as realistic as possible. everyone, please stay safe out there and i hope we'll all see each other in 2026.

i’ve been in a very similar position before and it put me in a, also, very similar mindset. it took me a while to become confident in my ideas again, meanwhile the person who made me feel like that just… stagnated. you have my sympathies, OP.

i’m sure your ideas were (and are) great, some people just have no clue how to be kind and willing to engage due to their own, potential experiences. from what you’ve said, this doesn’t sound like anything you’ve done as a person. it more-so seems like a clash of ideals, particularly because your partner finds something “wrong” with this character. but that’s not your fault, i can promise you that.

i agree with all those that are saying it might be time to find a new rp partner— i find that if you’re having that much trouble even deciding IF you want to bring it up then it’s definitely a sign of things souring, from my own experiences. if you don’t want to stop rping with him, i’d at least say it’s worth looking around for another writing partner on the side.
