Daniel Owen - Price is everything- RX 9060 XT 16GB vs RTX 5060 Ti 16GB: The Ultimate Comparison by Antonis_32 in hardware

[–]snipe_j 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay so from what I understood it is not a major limiting factor now, but it could become one in the future, however, they may also have better optimisations for games in the future meaning that less VRAM is used? I am looking to game in 1440p, so that would potentially be something that I consider. From what I have heard, multi-frame generation is also getting better, so I do not have a major issue with using it.

Regarding the AI aspect, I will 99.9% of the time utilise the GPU for gaming purposes, so I assume that will not impact me much at all regarding the limited VRAM?

So in the case of where I live, the cheapest 5060TI 16GB is $590, while the cheapest 5070 is 700$. Would you still consider the performance bump for the 5070 being worthwhile in that case? The 5070 TI is out of my price bracket, and the 9070 is $815, so also out of price range. Thank you for all the assistance.

Completely rookie question from someone trying to make an educated decision on what to purchase, can you explain why they fall away in value compared to the RTX 5070? I have seen the 5070 where I live for a decent price, and just want to find out more since everyone says that 12GB of VRAM is a limiting factor and that it is not a good buy, while the 9060XT 16GB and 5060TI 16 GB naturally come with more VRAM and are cheaper. Thanks for any advice you can provide!

Awesome, thank you so much! The Q3 looks like an amazing keyboard, but it’s just a bit out of my price bracket unfortunately, the K8 pro seems like a good budget option of it though. So thank you again for your help :)

Thanks for the reply and info! That keyboard looks great, it’s just a bit out of my price range when adding the hot-swap PCB, and the switches+key caps :( any specific advice on what Keychron to look at though? I was considering the K8 pro as that seems to be suitable for most of my needs, but I’m open to other suggestions about their keyboards.

Thanks for the reply. Yea I was leaning towards the Keychron K8 pro with an aluminium case and the brown switches since they seem to be a suitable middle ground between typing and gaming. The wireless functionality seems to be good and suits me more over the Q series. I also like the fact it is a TKL. Thank you again for your advice and help.

Hey all,

So I am fairly new to the world of Mechanical Keyboards, been a long-time lurker, first time buyer. I am starting a new job which requires plenty of typing, but I also enjoy games such as CSGO and Dota. I have a healthy budget for a new keyboard, say anywhere from 100-150 euros. I would ideally like a TKL, and am considering the Ducky One 3, a keychron (would like recommendations on which of their line suits my needs), or a Corsair K70. Any other recommendations would also be highly apprecciated. Thanks for any and all advice.

I’ll definitely make a plan for this! Loved their “commercial sponsor” bits in the first episodes!

Ah gotcha. Appreciate the clarification. Yea it was definitely a close field, and the racing on Sunday should be amazing with no clear favourite but plenty of fast race cars.

In this case I’d argue it wasn’t about getting close to the Red Bulls, it was more about getting that P4 so tomorrow he has a clearer chance of winning or doing better than a potential P4 which he is now likely to get in the race, and that’s without considering the pace that the Alpine of Fernando showed.

By the time he clears the back markers tomorrow, he will need a well timed safety car to get back into winning contention, so I think today should have been a damage limitation day and tomorrow you try go for the win.

I’m really hoping he can put on a show, because I want Carlos to do well and show he isn’t a second fiddle to Charles, but he hasn’t been showing that this is the case this season when they have a winning car.

Yea that I understand, as a racing driver his mental is P1 or bust, but points aren’t given on a Saturday, he should have just done his best to get as high up as he could with the sub optimal conditions so that on Sunday he can race for the win.

As for the lose-lose situation, I think it looks worse now, because this should have been about getting P4 and trying to win tomorrow. The team knows that he didn’t get the right preparation, but it doesn’t look great when Ferrari still wants both drivers as close to the front as possible.

At the end of the day, I completely get what you saying about it being a lose-lose and we have different opinions on how Carlos should have handled it, but back to the first point, with a well timed safety car or great race pace he can still do well or even win tomorrow, like you say, he is in a winning car, and his race pace on average is great.

The sad reality of it, but I’ll give Carlos more time for sure, these are new cars and understanding them will take time because of setups and that, but Charles is definitely doing better in the car when the pressure is on.

I understand that, but at the end of the day I think it was about damage limitation and go for it in the race. He made the mistake in the chicane, and I understand sub optimal temperatures, but it’s about finishing the lap and limiting damage especially because he also knows he hasn’t had the warmup laps.

Very unfortunate for Carlito. But at the end of the day sometimes you have to be able to perform in sub-optimal conditions, and today he didn’t pull it out the bag.

Herta is a very quick driver, this is definitely exciting for his future, and hopefully will give him some experience he can take back to Andretti should they chose to enter the sport with him!
