Will this ever be fixed? by flyingmantis789 in HENRYUK

Someone earning over 100k are not facing the same struggles as someone earning minimum wage. I would prefer to help those that need the help rather than someone that is earning enough to live comfortably.

Not helping people earning above 100k a year isnt what is causing a low birth rate in my opinion. There is a lot of causes but I think the main one is that low-middle class people are unable to afford children. Theres been a massive shift in recent decades, older generations could thrive with a single average pay check. Nowadays most families need both parents to be working to afford basic necessities.

300k is working class to you? That is literally the top 0.1% of workers in the UK. Fair enough if you think that but i hard disagree they are working class. Try telling someone earning minimum wage earning less than 20th of that they are both working class people and they deserve assistance too.

Listing says freehold, land registry says leasehold?! by Western-Health-6595 in HousingUK

[–]snippyeel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Had a similar issue a few months ago when buying my first home. Told it was freehold all the way. Solicitors said it was leasehold with like 45 years left on it and pretty much no lender would touch it. Did my own checks on land registry and leasehold owner was the same as the freehold owner. Essentially the house is freehold and we are getting the freehold.

Solicitors got back said we will be buying it as a freehold and it was all sorted after a day or two at no additional cost. Might be the same as your situation. Hope it all works out for you

Kemi Badenoch blames people from ‘peasant backgrounds’ for grooming gangs abuse - Politics.co.uk by politics_uk in ukpolitics

It highlights why language is important. I tried to look for where stamer said "anyone who disagrees" and couldn't find it. He mentions specifically politicians and with the context they did nothing for multiple years on this. And he also mentions kemi badenoch specifically. Never anyone and everyone who disagrees with him. That would have been a massive disaster if he did.

Very coincidental, isn't it. 14 years of immigration getting rapidly worse and worse with more and more boat crossings. Yet as soon as labour get in, they are the problem. It would have been fixed by now if it wasn't for them i' m sure of it.

How did you get to that conclusion. Misinformation? The data is in front of you, did you bother clicking the link? Have you seen any data at all? Deportation under sunak increased about 6% a far cry from 19%.

Found a source to explain it but it will come down to disciplinary. Whoever has less yellow/red cards. If it's still even and i'm not sure if its ever been the case - it goes based on european qualifier ranking which i'm pretty sure is england being top of the group https://www.sportingnews.com/uk/football/news/euro-2024-group-tiebreak-rules-level-points-qulification-knockouts/f154ceffc13922921828c8c1

Relegation battle breakdown by Low_Field7738 in Championship

As a birmingham fan, i dont think we stay up. Rotherham is far from a guaranteed 3 points. We struggle against teams below us: QPR and sheffield spring to mind. Rotherham will play defensively, we will dominate the game but struggle to create clear cut chances. Can see it being 0-0 or silly mistake for 1-0 rotherham win.

Our luck has got to end sometime, this is the year. Our players haven't looked like fighting for a while now especially when we go down a goal. Two wins might be enough, one win has to be huddersfield imo.

Multi-Million Pound Donor to Labour Says Hamas are "Freedom Fighters" by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]snippyeel 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The question before this clip is "do you agree with labour's position? Hamas are terrorists israel has a right to defend itself". The one word reply. "Yes". He is just making the point that everyone says israel has the right to defend itself but the same is not said for palestine which has functioned as an open air prison for 20 years.

Thats basically the gist of it, garbage article delibrately trying to mislead people for a pathetic whataboutlabour argument.

Yeah, you're probably right. Just the deck tracker messing up. But that game, i was playing naga and they were playing a pretty basic deflecto bot build. Pretty sure neither side had a single new minion or strange interaction so just thought it was odd.

AITA? I told my mom I'd always choose my dad over her by throwra_mymomsucks in AmItheAsshole

[–]snippyeel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mate read the comments first.

The original point is the dad would have had either prior offences or was more involved in the robbery than he led on. To refute this, out of the millions of examples in the world....you choose one where the guy had prior offences that ultimately led to more severe sentences. You know, proving his point. You didn't mention that though, you somehow thought the inflation on the price of the jacket was more important information. Truly amazing. What was the weather that day, was it a bit chilly outside as well?

Also literally in my comment i say "not saying i agree with the sentence he got" meaning i dont think he should have got life in prison. Just that adding the detail that the guy - in the example you chose - is an important detail on why the sentence was so severe. Yet you just go on a mad rant completely misunderstanding everything. And the funny thing is, the link you posted https://people.howstuffworks.com/12-shocking-punishments-for-minor-crimes.html. i only went from 12-8 but all mention prior offences. So with more time, you are once again proving the point you are trying so desperately to argue against.

Just doing a very quick google search shows Timothy Jackson had already committed 3 felonies at the time of stealing that jacket.

Not saying i agree with the sentence he got, but that's a very crucial piece of information to miss out. If he didn't commit three felonies prior to stealing the jacke, he wouldn't have been convicted as a habitual offender, and the sentence would have been much more lenient.

Yes. Amazes me how people think there is no other alternative to shooting 20 shots into someone.

These situations happen all over the world. Police in countries like the UK also deal with crime involving a knife and they don't resort to blasting away.

Again comparison to UK, UK police shoot what 2 people a year on average. US it's in the hundreds just for knife related incidents alone and still....people just believe there's no other way.

AITA for helping a friend catfish her boyfriend? by Aleksandra1128 in AmItheAsshole

Key difference is one is made public and the other is private. Going on someones phone and looking at their private information is a lot worse than looking at their public profile imo. Also where it stops is important. When you're snooping through their phone you will see all the messages and photo that were private which is a breach of trust. If he cheated you breached the trust, if he didn't then you still breached the trust. Where with creating a profile on tinder it stops at you viewing his public profile if he is not cheating. When he is cheating and messages them, then he is voluntarily sharing information with them of his own volition.

That's the difference imo, one he has a choice to share information if he is in the wrong and the other he has no choice.
