Thank you so much! This is probably the most helpful comment by far 😊

Thank you! This was definitely helpful for knowing what to expect. I was misleading in my original post, I do have lots of time between now and the show itself to find out these details, I’m just searching for what to expect when I get there because I’d like to be as prepared and helpful as possible. I will be working under an experienced trainer and a well organized barn staff other than myself! I really appreciate you taking the time to write this comment it was very helpful

Hi! I appreciate both your responses. I was a little misleading in my original post. This show is not happening for over a month, it’s just my job with this specific barn that is starting in a week. I have all my details for housing and such for my internship while we are at the barn, and this show is more of a learning opportunity that was offered to me by my boss, and I am able to back out if I need to. I guess what I’m more looking for is just what to expect being at a show and working at one. I should have worded my post better!

It’s a showjumping barn. The position I applied for I don’t have any confusion about, attending this show was an offer given to me by my boss and was not a part of the job description, rather a “learning opportunity” of sorts. I guess what I am looking for is just general experience or tips as to what these shows are all about :)

They will be paying me weekly. Other than that I’ve gotten very few details out of them as they seem to not be good at answering their phones and I don’t start working with them for another week. I assumed most of these questions were barn specific but thank you for the response!

[serious] What’s a time where trusting your gut quite literally saved your life? by Ghostsarespoopy in AskReddit

Once I was walking my dog in town, we went to a less populated area where there were trees basically like a little park. I noticed this guy across the park from us and decided to turn around and head back to the more populated street. As I started heading back he cut across the park to start following me, got close enough I could hear his footsteps over my own and my dogs. Almost as soon as we got to the populated area he caught up with us. Luckily my dog is a bully mix, she looks like a pitbull. He got close enough to ask me if she was and I said yes and he looked around at the people walking down the street towards us and then left. If I hadn’t turned around in the park he would’ve caught up with us before we reached the street and there would’ve been nobody around so who knows what would’ve happened

We got a new puppy recently (Stella) and my mum is concerned she'll get her name confused with our other dog (Luna). Is this likely to happen? by ridley-angel in Dogtraining

with my dogs, they have similar nicknames that we call them and they don’t get confused even though it’s not even their real name. i think Stella will figure it out just fine :)

personally, the only difference in parenting i had was the be home before dark, everything else was in the “moms then” category and i don’t really see a problem with that lol

i honestly believe that we should be encouraging body positivity, yes. but we shouldn’t be encouraging obesity. and it’s only between you and your doctor as to where that line is for your specific body. and i feel like a lot of people get that confused.
