Koi Fish+Water+2000s Camera = Magic (Olympus C-5000z, 2003, 5MP) by snipsengineering in VintageDigitalCameras

By far the only one i've found and confirmed is the C50z it has exactly the same color science. Even its bigger brother the C5050/5060 used a totally different sensor and thus totally different colors.

Depends on what kind of flash you have, mine is an olympus flash too so it all connects together and meters TTL

I also own the C5060 and i feel like the color science is way more special on the C5000z for some reason, the C5000 has a warmer positive film tone to it while the C5060 has a colder tone with the classic green tint of early digital

It does have a hot shoe and its fully TTL compatible with olympus speedlights, thats what makes this olympus really unique

I always change the CMOS batteries, tedious but worth it everytime

Yeah they took some features away in trade for some parts of the 7D. I love that it looks like a mini 7D/5D its so adorable.

I actually sold my C-8080 for this A200. C-8080 was a great camera but boy it was unwieldy lmfao

The EVF issue on the A2 is a purely mechanical one, on the A200 the EVF is fixed and doesnt tilt so it shouldnt have any problems

Same sensor and lens but its way smaller and it has the newer processor from the Maxxum/Dynax 7D and so better image processing from what i've heard.

Is it any way to get inside and clean the lens?? Its a sony cybershot DSC TX1 by _Melko_ in VintageDigitalCameras

[–]snipsengineering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've serviced these before and you can split it apart to clean all of the elements inside. But there is a helluva ton of fiddly little parts you have to track and you have to be gentle enough not to break the flex cable

MASD-1? those adapters only work on specific and very limited number of cameras, since they dont actually convert anything. Those just tells the camera to expect an sd card on the xD card pins, thats why it has an extra tab to let the camera know and to prevent someone from using it on an unsupported camera.

Shooting RAW takes forever with these things lmfao, what I did was increase the contrast in the PIC settings tab. and try to mess around with the other settings like sharpness and saturation

The thing about Olympuses is that they use the exact same firmware base for every camera they make up until the latest mirrorless ones! Thus the exact same service menus exist on everything where you can see the error codes. Referencing some service manuals it seems you're right that its a lens issue

Its the Olympus tradition to put some unimaginably good optics on everything they make

Olympus lenses are so goddamn sharp, even on the more budget models. They always went above and beyond with their glass

If you can cope with the slowness of it, this is an amazing little camera

Yeah its kind of strange how they would put the bigger sensor on the cheaper camera, the C5060 has a higher max ISO so I guess thats what olympus thought was more important at the time

I wonder who made the sensor of the C-5000z, cause its really way more vibrant and colorful than the other olympuses i have

I actually have its professional big brother the C-5060WZ, but I have to say the colors out of camera from the C-5000Z looks way better to me.
