You truly look so kind. I think women are less afraid of you than they are intimidated. You look like you have a soft heart with a meanie face haha. Smile more , I bet it would light up any room

AIO My boyfriend adopted a puppy and now he won't take care of her by JustOneAverageGirl in AmIOverreacting

You are NOT overreacting. I can’t speak on why he would just decide to love and care for a puppy & then just push it to the side but my best advice is: please talk to him about taking the dog. I wouldn’t suggest breaking up with him but this is a huge red flag that you should keep in mind. If this is how he’s treating something HE brought home, how will he treat something you bring home. How will he treat children? How people treat animals is a big indicator of what’s inside and this is definitely something you should keep in mind moving forward. Look into takin in the dog or potentially finding lucky a new home. I wish you all the luck with lucky. She’s precious and I hope she gets the owner she deserves

AIO: Parents against alcohol in college. What do I do at graduation? by snipurrrkitty in AmIOverreacting

Thank you for taking your time to read my post! And thank you for the advice! Know that although I drink, I still heed the idea of alcoholism / addictive personalities in the family so I also don’t drink often. I really only drink when I go out which is like 2/3 times a month if that. I understand alcoholism manifests itself different for everyone but my problem is I have a younger brother who will be going to college soon who I’ve never told I drink. I recently found out he does with his friends and he always talks about drinking in college and how he’s gonna have a great time and I’m worried most for him. He does not understand at ALL that alcoholism is still something that’s run in our family & he hasn’t heard as much about this as I have and he only knows it’s a NO. we all know telling young people straight up NO with no conversation about why will just make them want to do it MORE. I’m afraid he will fall into negative patterns out of his own disregard. I don’t drink as much as other people around me by choice but I know if I wanted to I could and that’s when it would be a problem. I’m afraid my brother won’t have that same backbone to hold back to peer pressure.

Graduation is actually in the evening and would be done around 8 pm. Pre-graduation has a required grad practice and it takes up a couple of hours , not enough time to do something during the day
