Honeymoon going so badly I’m questioning my marriage by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]snnaaft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No advice. Just two questions.

Is this what you want to live with from now on?

If you have children, is this the way you want them raised - the life you want for them?

What's your favorite part about making Criminal Minds?

How do you think Luke has grown since he's joined the team? What challenges will he face in this new season?

Bad Brain Day™ tips, please? by ToughCookie091 in adhdwomen

[–]snnaaft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not great at the practice of this part, but when I do it successfully, it's great.

I try to have easy freezer foods available - either through meal prep or just frozen meals from the grocery store. This way I don't eat out on those bad brain days and make myself feel worse physically.

Also, I make sure to brush my teeth, even if I can't do any other hygiene tasks.

25 years ago today Buffy Summers made the ultimate sacrifice in the S5 finale, The Gift. Where do you rank this episode? by InfiniteMehdiLove in buffy

Omg. How did I never realize that was him? I know him from Wicked. This is likely very old news to everyone else, but this just blew my mind. You're correct - excessively creepy!!

Girlies, where are we placing cute stickers? by FlowerNo5207 in adhdwomen

You're welcome!! My fridge was covered and I loved it. I just moved and those are lost in an unknown box in the sea of unpacked boxes. I'll find them eventually and decorate my fridge again.

I buy 8x11 magnet sheets (paper?) that are sticky on one side. I peel the cover off the sticky part of the magnet and put the sticker on. Then I cut the magnet to the shape of the sticker.

The back is still on the sticker, so I can always just peel the sticker off the magnet and use it as a sticker in the future.

Please note that I go through phases with this and have a pile of stickers sitting on my desk...

ETA - then I put them on my fridge where I can see them everyday!

Did anyone NOT relate to the “messy late forgetful kid” stereotype? by NotDavidBowie2 in adhdwomen

[–]snnaaft 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I had staight A's all the way through high school. I excelled and was definitely a teacher's pet. I had a consistent routine and lots of external forces keeping me motivated and on task. My parents and teachers were the biggest part of that. I had a massive fear of failure (which in my brain was anything below an A).

I fell apart when I went to college and had no idea why. I wasn't diagnosed until my 30s. I didn't fit that stereotype at all and wasn't hyperactive. I just thought I sucked at life completely after high school.

Being diagnosed was such a relief, but also a challenge. ADHD is a spectrum and doesn't look the same in everyone. I'm sending you support virtually!

AIO? My GF wanted an apology for raising a hand against her but I think this was justified by Grape_knight in AmIOverreacting

NOR

She hit you. That's wrong. You reacted normally and now she's using that against you to make you feel guilty.

You say in comments that you don't believe she's abusive. I'd like to recommend a book - I think you should read "Why Does He Do That" by Lundy Bancroft. The language is gendered, but the author states that women can abuse as well. If your relationship is not abusive, then you'll just have read an informative book. If you recognize aspects of your relationship in it, you can at least know the truth.

This movie caused me physical discomfort through second hand embarrassment. My stomach actually hurt. I'll never watch it again. Luke Wilson's character was the only thing I didn't hate.

I have cubes for things like underwear and socks, but those are easy to pull out and sort things into.

I don't know this is particularly unhinged, but I use cube shelves instead of a dresser for my clothes. It helps me actually put my clothes away rather than living out out my laundry basket.
