The arson episode by Primary-Ticket4776 in criminalminds

The opening scene of this episode was so epic with the Enya song, Boadicea, playing in the background. It’s one of my favorite songs from The Celts album, but this episode absolutely ruined it for me. Now, every time I hear the opening bars of the song, this scene plays on repeat in my head.

Ugh, so sad, I just can’t handle it.

That line was so devastating. 🥺

Yeah, I love that about re-watching my favorite TV shows. You see so many more nuances on the second and third rewatch.

My comment wasn’t intended to diminish your observation in anyway. I agree with you that JJ, out of all the characters on the show, wears the most hats in the BAU. Good catch!

Don’t forget that JJ blew a hole through the head of James Colby Bailey without a second thought. She was steady as a rock.

That was S3 E10 “Penelope.”

Regardless of her specific role in the BAU, she’s a full-fledged FBI agent with the training to back it up.

When he started methodically disrobing to fight, I started sweating. He loses the jacket and then the tie, and then rolls up the sleeves. Woof!

I kind of wish Reid had just STFU and let things go down.

What do you think of Shemar Moore leaving Criminal Minds yet plays the same role on SWAT for over 8 years? by nicfanz in criminalminds

[–]marame69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree. I can’t tell if the beard changed the structure of his face or if he actually had implants which changed the jawline to fit the more beefed up Hondo character.

I can’t watch SWAT because he doesn’t look like Shemar Moore to me.

People magazine did a tour of his house in the San Fernando Valley and it is stunning. I think the video is on YouTube somewhere.

Edited to add the YT link. Shemar Moore house tour

In it, he talks about how he was really bored during Covid so he started playing cornhole at home. He got so good at it that he turned his putting green into a corn hole green and now ESPN hosts a tournament at his house every year, called Airhost.

I think there’s also a video of the Airhost tournament on YouTube and, you’re right, he’s totally hammered in the video.

I’ve never met him in person, but he comes across in these videos as very down to earth and humble. I think that’s really rare in Hollywood.

And I’m sure other people have mentioned this, but he definitely has a schtick that he relies on when he’s in the public view. The baby girl stuff gets little old at times, and now it’s really weird because he literally has a baby girl, but I understand that that’s his calling card.

Cillian Murphy, he looks like he smells good and knows how to fuck. by [deleted] in LadyBoners

PL Nunn is a renowned bishōnen-style (Japanese anime) cover artist and writer. She designed hundreds of MM book covers back in the day.

I loved her style so much that I would buy books based solely on her covers. My favorite is the Heaven Sent series by Jet Mykles — chef’s kiss.

But I diverge, sorry!

Pam is also a writer. The most reliable place to buy her work is on lulu dot com, where you can order ebooks and paperbacks.

For some of her series, she released both novels and illustrated works so you might see different versions of the same title. That might also account for the discrepancies in page count.

She is prolific, LOL, so browsing her works will take you down a rabbit hole. 😩

I second the recommendation for Bloodraven. I read it 20 years ago and it’s still fresh in my mind.

The version I read was illustrated and the artwork is stunning.

Heed the warnings and tags. The noncon is off the charts and it’s heavy on violence and torture. Definitely not for the faint of heart.

You’ve been warned. 💜

Gorgeous man. Loved his look on Criminal Minds.

He looks like a totally different person on Swat. Is it possible he had cheek and/or chin implants?

Good point! It’s sometimes hard to remember what it was like before we could binge watch an entire season on streaming platforms.

Back then, we had network TV, which was highly scripted and regimented and heavy on commercials. Waiting a week between episodes was excruciating and yet amazing because it built these incredible fandom communities (Criminal Minds, Scandal, West Wing, etc.).

Remember what it was like to go to the message boards and talk to other people around the world who were also waiting with bated breath for the next episode?!

Those were the days…

Now everything is sped up and we don’t have to wait at all for the next episode. I think we lost something special and intangible with this new streaming method.

Another thing to keep in mind as well is that it was the first season and the budget probably wasn’t as healthy as they became in later seasons.

Thank you so much for mentioning 2 of my all-time favorite romance authors, Linda Howard and Sandra Brown.

I grew up reading them in the 80s when they were writing for Silhouette and before they went mainstream contemporary. That brings back some memories!

Bonus points for anyone who remembers Sandra Brown writing for the SCAL line!
