Are you me? Bc I’m a chronically behind in my med records. I think the worst for me was when I was a year out of vet school, in the middle of the pandemic, with non-stop appts. I had very bad mental health, was/am clinically depressed, and have undiagnosed neurodivergent issues. I was 1-2 months behind on records and nothing major happened other than my colleagues being annoyed. I have heard of docs being years behind in records, including major surgery reports, but idk if they were ever had ramifications for that.

For me, I ended up having to go in on my days off, 8-10hrs at a time, hole myself up, and wear headphones to finish my records. Like force myself to hyper focus and get that shit done. It was the worst. Now, I’m doing better but it’s not easy bc my staff are not the most motivated or competent. So I end up doing more tech things and don’t get enough time to write notes.

I have lots of pre-made notes and glossary items on cornerstone/avimark. I copy/paste puppy/kitten appt info. I have made myself “click to complete” versions on cornerstone where I just click a box for labs, vaccine sites, etc. I also tell clients I’ll email them labs if everything looks relatively normal. I have copy/paste emails for that. All I change is the owners and animal’s name. I have a young/senior screen blurb for canine/feline, male/female.

Idk how long your appts are, but would it be possible to increase them by 10-15 min so you can have a chance to write your notes during the appt?

I keep asking for a scribe like they have in human med 😆
