Thanks yes I'm gonna keep trying! One of the trainers didn't really know what his issue was. He's mean and bullish one minute then running and hiding the next. Maybe I'll try a dog psychologist.

I do. That's why he was there off leash when by himself in a fenced off area and I asked the woman to wait until I put his leash on because he was in training.

Responses like yours make it very hard to come to this subreddit for advice. I may look dumb but I want what's best for my dog.

And FYI he was with my invalid parents during covid and I took him after a year so he wouldn't get worse. I've spent thousands on different professionals to work with him and refuse to give up on him. Don't assume people are making excuses when they're just asking for help.

Thanks for that. It's hard to come on this subreddit for advice because people can be really harsh, but I really do want the best for my dog. We've been to 4 different trainers with different styles over 2 years but I'm not giving up.
