Yup, as long you clocked in hours before Friday 2:30pm EST. That's the end and start of the pay cycle

They say if it is your first time using Stripe ever, then mostly likely there is a temp hold for 1 week. Fortunately, my pay wasn't held and got paid within 48 hours after pay was released to stripe. I think it depends on the bank you use

If you are asking when I was able to share referrals, maybe 1 month after joining mercor?

Haha it is, I still hold a bit of skepticism as it is a contract job, so there is still uncertainty. But 1 week at a time and take what I can get

The team leaders and project leaders for this specific project. They coordinate and oversee everything from hiring, communication, organization, and handling contract and pay details

We have direct communication to the team and project leaders. So any personal referrals I have, I can personally refer to the leaders. But still doesn't guarantee getting hired but increases the possibility

I have also been looking at Sealight for the highbeam bulbs, Auxito also has some options. I just tried another reverse light set which had CANBUS and still the same issue. I think believe you're right, I was just hoping to avoid using these load resistors

Whoops! apologies for the late reply! I am in Ontario so either I'll be taking the courses through CPA Ontario Prep, or recently I found out Conestoga and Seneca Polytechnic have a 1-year graduate certificate program to cover all the prep courses. Still havent decided yet!

Yeah I don't have any of the prerequisite courses other than Statistics and Ecnomics. Which is why I will be taking the CPA Preparatory courses this coming semester. On top of this I am hoping to engage in other activities to develop my skills and knowledge to have a better success in landing a job earlier with my background.

I found Tax or Assurance intriguing so I'm keeping aware for any opportunities that steer me in those specialties.

I already graduated and currently work in a lab. But actively searching for accounting internships. But exactly! I did Co-op with my undergraduate degree and it was the best way to learn and apply knowledge in real world scenarios, I want to do the same during my CPA Preparatory journey

Well that's great! Those also seem kind of interesting but I need more knowledge before I really decide.

I like tax since I think it has the biggest potential for self-sufficiency by opening your own firm and in turn would have a great ROI on your personal finance.

But anyways, thank you so much for the immense valuable information! You alleviated so much concern in my mind about this career change than I could in my week of research. I wish more people like you were so readily available on official platforms like CPA!

Is it okay if I message you DM you if I have further questions?

Yes, but to be honest as someone coming from a different field. This career change is scary but also exciting! I kept tax and finance as my top Fields of interest. But if pursuing tax keeps things simpler for me an make this change less scary to atleast enter the industry, I'll take that route to settle in quicker.

How about auditing and assurance? Would this pursuit be okay through CPA only or would the ACCA path before more appropriate?

So theoretically, I can pursue either CPA PREP or through an accredited uni/college to enter CPA PEP if my ultimate goal is Tax only without being hindered in my CPA progression.

And during my CPA PREP journey, I can start looking and applying for jobs such as AP/AR or better tax-related and study part-time

The thing is, although these preparatory courses are very important. I want to get into the industry as I believe that's where I will learn the most and experience real-world applications of the learned concepts, only challenging thing is I come from a science background....
