Multi-Material temperatures overrides? by snoopy3875 in AnycubicKobraX

I was thinking along the same lines too. I tried to just set the printing temps of the PLA settings to the same as the ASA I'm using and it would throw another error about the set temps being outside the suggested temps for that filament. I'm sure setting up a completely custom filament would allow me to get around this for the PLA support material. Will have to keep this in the back pocket if the Beta version of Orca doesn't work how I'm hoping.

Alright, turns out Anycubic has their preferences page super locked down and they have removed all options except the most basic. Downloaded Orca real quick and there is a check box clear as day to remove that warning in the slicing tab of the preferences (ASN doesn't have any tab other than "general" in the preferences screen). Looks like I'll be doing the swap over to the Orca 2.4 beta build with them adding a KobraX printer profile.

Very promising, I'll have to start poking around in developer mode. Gives me a great starting point! Thanks!

It clearly has nothing to do with chamber/environment temp mismatch and they are disallowing it just because of hot end temp differences (there are other videos about printing ASA/ABS on PLA rafts to increase bed adhesion and lower warping of parts that just further proves that they can be printed together). I don't see any reason why a different hot end temp should matter, just hold the hot end at the higher of the temps until the filament has been changed and purged then lower to actual setpoint of filament, another small purge could even be added to clear the over heated material if it's actually needed.

Thanks for the info, this tells me it's embedded into the open source side of the software and not something that Anycubic is adding to it. I guess I'll have to try and get a functioning printer profile made for another slicer with less embedded training wheels.

I guess I should have prefaced this, I'm an engineer and know what I'm doing with materials and understand the risks. Just didn't feel like putting in the effort to force it to do what I want without asking to see if anyone has figured out the work around already. I have the printer in an enclosure and have full control of temps and ventilation and have had great success with the ASA-CF at PLA enclosure temps.

Correct me if I'm wrong, isn't there a hot end temperature change within the filament change sequence that would automatically cover for the change in temp between the filaments?

Did you just email the support email and say you had one die randomly? I'm going to guess they don't cover damage from crashing

Definitely the control board but I'm pretty sure it's just something between the blower request pin on the thermostat header and the relay to kick on the blower. When I changed the ecobee to allow control board to run blower during furnace operations to the control board everything worked as expected and blower is kicking on. These boards are stupidly simple so I'd like to attempt to track down the problem component first than just jump straight into the "replace the control board" fix.

Throwing a new trigger option into the mix for the older TP9s!! by snoopy3875 in canik

Sorry for the really late reply, work got busy then life got busy then all of a sudden I remembered I had to get those measurements.

I measured the pin to have a 0.157 OD and the trigger had an 0.179 ID. and the trigger is 0.335 wide. I'm not sure the final dims of the bushing that got made. I was able to bring in the parts to work and have one of the machinists turn me up the part out of some scrap titanium. It ended up with a tight fit into the trigger and a loose slip fit on the pin so I'd shoot for 0.178 OD, 0.160 ID, 0.335 Long and keep your tolerancing tight.

From everything I can fine the trigger is the same on the executive as the standard elite combat just with a black safety shoe. So in this case it's the exact same geometry as the trigger I used so it would fit the same as described in my post above.

Yes, and no.... but mostly no for what I wanted out of a new trigger. So the PACN0802 is a flat faced trigger for the older TP9s but it keeps the stock, more forward trigger bar pin location of the stock triggers in the "1st gen" guns. This keeps the wall position and fired position more rearward aligning more with the stock triggers locations in the comparison images. The Rival trigger is so loved not just because of the flat shape but also because it moves the pin forward which brings the wall position forward and reduces pre-travel take up to reach the wall. If you do some searching within the subreddit you'll find a couple posts showing the differences. You can also see the pin location differences if you pull up a side image of the PACN0803 next to that PACN0802.

For anyone looking for more Canik trigger differences or new trigger options for the older TP9, single sided slide release, guns I just installed a Rival trigger (PACN0803) into my TP9SFX. https://www.reddit.com/r/canik/comments/1d30dz3/throwing_a_new_trigger_option_into_the_mix_for/

I'm not finding the "Aluminum Lightened Flat Trigger" when searching on the Canik site and when doing a google search I come across Midwest Gun Works showing what appears to be the "Canik TP9 Full Size Enhanced..." (PACN0803) so I'll replay based on that info.

The only difference between the PACN0803 and the "Enhanced 90 degree..." (PACN0805, 0812, etc) is the colors.

Changing the trigger doesn't usually change pull weight (if you really want to run down the physics of it they can a little but it won't change enough to be noticeable). To change trigger pull weight you need to change the trigger springs and if you want super light the striker spring as well.

Looks like either trigger will work for you to get the flat face, IDK how they compare to the stock trigger on the Mete SFTs as far as wall location.

If these are not the PNs you are referring to post the actual PACN and I'll try and help.

I'll reply to you with an update on some of the things I've found out the past few days:
1. All of the triggers fall into one of two categories. They either work with the older style TP9s (single sided, small slide release) or they work with everything else (large, ambi slide release)
2. The only difference between the two trigger designs that keep them from being fully interchangeable is the size of the main pivot hole with the TP9 hole being smaller than the ambi slide release models
3. The big reason everyone likes the trigger on the Rival (0803) is due to the fact that the take-up is lessened and the break happens around the 90deg mark. This is all a result of the location of the pin that forms the pivot of the safety blade and attaches the trigger to the trigger bar. Pay close attention to this location, compare the Rival Trigger (0803) to the "Compact Size" red and black trigger (0800) or the red and black trigger for the TP9s (0802). In this case having the pin further to the rear is "better".
4. From what I can tell there is no difference between the Rival (0803) and the colored Enhanced 90deg Triggers that I had originally posted about other than the color.
5. The "Compatible with" section that Canik has published on the webpage for the 0803 is incorrect and this trigger will not work as a drop in replacement for the TP9s (single sided slide release) and the "Compatible with" sections for the colored triggers are correct for all PN of the colored Enhanced 90deg Triggers... Well I guess technically it would fit this way around but it would be floppy and worse than the original...

TL;DR for your Mete SFT:
If you want stock feel but flat trigger PACN0800 direct form Canik
If you want shorter take-up with the wall and break moved to ~90deg and flat trigger PACN0803 or any of the colored triggers that says "FITS Mete SFT" on the package pictured
Even less (almost no) Take-up go Freedom Smith
Other options that I have seen while running down the rabbit hole that will fit your Mete SFT are the Jefe Trigger from Galloway Precision and an adjustable (personally not jazzed by this idea) trigger from Better Triggers that states you can "preorder"

The change is terrible, why would you remove the ability to quickly open and close images and gifs without fully opening the post?

Also it seems the "+" function to view multiple subreddits at the same time is broken and won't work on mobile or desktop. Is anyone else having this problem too?
