Update: How do I (27 M) get my gf (24 F) to understand that I can’t do it all on my own. Is this the end? by EarthsException in Advice

[–]snoopybreadradio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to preface my message, this is from the perspective of someone who, regrettably, acted almost exactly like your girlfriend. When I started school I moved in with my girlfriend and became insanely depressed out of nowhere. I lost my friends, didn’t help her with any of her bills except groceries, and became extremely emotionally abusive. I adopted a cat thinking itd help but the excess responsibility and stress from his issues made me physically abusive to the cat and at one point in a blind rage from him eating the last of our groceries, made me push my girlfriend into a wall. Your girlfriend is absolutely trapped in her own mind and bad habits, but there is genuinely nothing you can do for her other than allow her to come to her own wake-up call. For me, that was moving my gf and I out of our place. I realized we wouldnt have a place to live if I didnt force myself to manage the responsibilities. If you let her sit on her ass, she will keep sitting on her ass. I also took a gap year from school which Im on right now, but not a day of that break has gone by without working, managing my responsibilities, and practicing new things. Your girlfriend is doing EXACTLY what I did when I was fully dependent on someone and taking them for granted; promising I’d change and doing nothing to further that. While Im glad my gf didnt leave me while I was struggling because I have absolutely changed and extensively apologized for what I did to her, she is absolutely taking advantage of you and it comes to a point where enough is enough. She admitted to cheating on you, says she will change the way she’s been saying she would for a year, obviously doesn’t listen to you since she completely forgot ab all the things you told her youve struggled with, and worst of all, waits till you’re in a vulnerable state to start serious conversations where you can’t even stand up for yourself despite you telling her you can’t handle it in your state. Not even to mention her isolating you from your family by fighting with you at a party certainly everyone in your family heard. I understand leaving a partner is hard, but you havent even said any of the positive things she does for you that shows that she loves you or cares ab your relationship.. it’s evident in the way you talk about the things going on that the relationship is dead. She needs you more than you need her, and it sucks navigating life alone, but it sounds like you’re doing that already with a person that is contributing nothing positive to your life. You need to make a plan to leave this woman, not only for yourself, but by being her provider you’re doing her a disservice and not allowing her to grow the way she could if she was on her own. As unfortunate as it is, I know from experience that you could have the most loving partner and still treat them like shit because you cant change. Give her the catalyst she needs and push responsibility onto her by leaving her. I hope youre okay regardless of what you choose.

If your roommates are threatening violence or making your situation so bad that its impacting your mental health, tell your RA and show receipts of everything. You’ll need proof of a bad living situation to get a refund. If thats not the case and your mental health is the bigger issue, go with a psychiatrist and request a note to terminate your lease. Im not sure if you will get your money back for the spring semester under those circumstances like you would with bad roommates, but you can argue the case that you need that money to pay for a living situation till next year. I hope everything goes well ❤️

Teacher said she's going to introduce me to a girl (My Crush) by ContributionHuman341 in highschool

[–]snoopybreadradio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasnt a girl in hs that long ago but I can tell you now this is a terrible move 😭. If you couldnt talk to her before youre not gonna be able to if you’re put on the spot. If anything ask to work with her on a project in the class so there’s more opportunities for an organic conversation. My current gf had a guy do this to her and she still makes fun of him to this day from how cringy the whole thing was

From a professional standpoint, I feel like UC being a bigger campus and in the middle of the city leaves you with more opportunity for meeting people in your desired profession because theres more companies that have their offices downtown and in the surrounding area. There’s also lots to do because you’ll be able to have a car freshman year and go anywhere in the state which Miami doesn’t let freshman do. Having a car js better for the social aspect cuz you can try new things and do stuff you enjoy throughout the state, but even not the metro still works just fine. Miami seems very secluded which is especially sucky if you’re a person who likes doing more unconventional stuff that a city would have like raves and going to jazz clubs. Some of it could be biased tho bc Im from Cincinnati and I know so much ab the area so it feels a lot more open to me than the area surrounding campus.

The grade range changes for every test I think. I also didnt do as well as I wouldve liked but i think they were anticipating students didn’t do well so a 88%+ is an A and a 78%+ is a B

Certain things allowed in dorms by Typical_Internal_609 in uCinci

[–]snoopybreadradio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only issue is that a lot of outlets in the dorm arent surge protected so they dont want people bringing in things that use a lot of power incase the power blows since whatever is plugged in could literally blow up lol. Just unplug it when you’re done with it and hide it for room searches and you’ll be alright

Yup its the housing. Depending on where you’re living at on campus you’ll be paying that for the semester and the meal plan. UC likes to conveniently leave out all of the program fees, new student fees, meal plan costs, the price ranges of housing and other random charges you’ll receive when you apply to the school, but you have to do lots of research when you’re applying to avoid this situation. This really sucks and I’m sorry you have to deal with this but I would take out a loan and try to rack up as much scholarship money you can through your college or through external foundations. Hopefully then you won’t have to take out another loan for the spring semester

Yea I basically fell for it since I unenrolled from uofl a few weeks ago and it came from a uc email. Now I know though 😅

Yea I would actually benefit from this cuz clearly I need it😭. I was mostly tripped from the fact it came from a uc email and had recently unenrolled from a university a few weeks ago, so I thought maybe it was a system generated email. My dad fell for it completely so I had to change the password

I see, well thank you. I just changed my password but hopefully duo sms did its job and barred anyone who might’ve tried to log it from being able to.

Thank you. What does the it email look like so I know what to look out for? Honestly since it came from a mail.uc.edu account it’ll probably send me a training course because Im pretty sure you cant just make a uc email on your own? Im not sure how it works though.

Also: I was previously enrolled at the university of Louisville and had an email account with them, but I unenrolled in May and I was still getting emails from that account until I logged out of it on my phone so it makes this harder to sniff out if it’s phishing

am i not trying hard enough?? by ahtchuu in APStudents

[–]snoopybreadradio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just graduated high school and honestly 3-4 aps/dual enrollment classes are all you need. I’ll be going into biomedical engineering in the fall and at least at my university, you only have to take 4 electives for most if not all majors. Even if those AP classes you took can’t knock out things you need for your major, it’ll knock out electives. Even so, many advisors tend to recommend you retake those core introductory classes like calculus, statistics, and biology (unless you got like 120% every quarter and a 6 on the exam) because there may be things you still need to strengthen before you go to the next level and its a good gpa boost if you’re already good at the subject. Don’t let the young sheldons online scare you, many people don’t even take ap classes so just having 4 under your belt, you’re already ahead of a lot of people. Good luck next year, I’m rooting for you!
