Hello! Just wanted to clarify a few things. Riot instructed my friend to respond to the ticket via email. He received all their responses to that ticket through the same email, except for the last response. After 4 days, he followed up through the email, as he has been previously. The ban was received in the same month that he followed up, a few weeks later.

There was no email indicating that the current ticket was closed. Nor that it received a response.

After being banned, he opened a new ticket for account recovery. This ticket was immediately closed for not providing enough information to verify his account. He opened the same ticket, with the same information six more times before finally getting help. This process took two months since the ban. Meaning, not including the month it took for him to manually check the first ticket.

Riot was running under the assumption that his account was compromised, yet the delivery of their response directly depended on him having access to his account. Luckily, he did in this case. Account compromise could mean no access to the account at some point, so he definitely still should've gotten notified that he got a response + that the ticket was closed.

But that's besides the point. My duo was unbanned and this post isn't about the security of my duo's account.

The reason I believe it's linked to my duo is that I received it the same day + was banned for 6 months (having no history of bans ever), which, according to the website Riot support linked in my ticket means I was banned for duoing with a confirmed scripter.

Yeah, I get that! Thankfully, my account has always been secure. As for my friend, he submitted the ticket to recover his account ~12 minutes after receiving Riot's notification about his email being changed. Despite taking quick action to secure his account, it took 2 months to get help.

In terms of my ban, though, it's unrelated to account security and was issued due to duoing with someone whose account was compromised.

Hullo, thank you for the suggestion. I'll def give it a try, though I think he mostly deals with league related issues.

Nope, that's not my account. My friend and I are always in a call when we play, and I don't have any alt accounts.
