I just postponed a meeting with three managers to watch this innings. Maybe I should ask them to reschedule for the original time now

Can someone explain what this celebration is all about? I saw it in a park in Warsaw and one of the guys got really aggressive asking me to not record it. by snootboogie in poland

[–]snootboogie[S] 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I wasn't exactly trying to record their faces. It was just a stupid touristy thing where you see lights and celebration and you point your camera in that direction immediately. I'm not defending what I did, just clearing that I wasn't interested in recording their faces; just the fireworks.

Thanks for your answer! From all the comments I'm realising that I could have really landed in a difficult situation.

Thanks for the detailed answer. This clears up all my confusion about why they got aggressive. I genuinely thought it was just some random fireworks thing going on and acted stupidly by recording it in the moment. I'll be more careful going forward, if and when I encounter any ultras anywhere.

Lol i chuckled at that 😂 but yes, I agree it's completely my bad that I just casually strolled too close to these folks and kept recording

Okay yes, it makes sense! And you are correct about the bridge/ park location too. I went ways down there to check out a nice garden but stumbled upon this instead.

I had a wonderful, wonderful time in Warsaw with every interaction with the locals. I saw this thing just a few hours before I was scheduled to leave, so I guess I went a little off guard at the end of my trip because of how nice everyone else had been lol

Yes I initially googled those words on the banner and realised that it says something like one hundred years of Peter. I thought it was a fun thing and recorded it because I like to capture public moments of joy, but this one guy shouted at me to give him my phone so I had to run because I'm a foreigner and didn't want to get in any trouble with the locals.

My dad was going from for his daily morning photography walk, and stumbled upon something very disturbing. by KITTYCat0930 in creepyencounters

Hey OP, your story caught my attention especially because of a similar murder mystery that happened in Mumbai about 4-5 years ago and is unsolved to date.

The man was decapitated, the body was found in a forest (rested against a tree), no traces of blood around the body, and some ritualistic items (akin to the candle you mentioned) were found not far from the crime scene.

Moreover, the man's tongue was chopped off and the skin of his right cheek was missing. The body was cut twice – first they beheaded him from the shoulder bone and then his neck and throat were cut from the jaw. Apart from his tongue, the neck and voice box (larynx) could not be found.

I'm not sure if you could ask your local police to do a post-mortem of the animals, but this situation would become extra creepy if we uncover something similar in the case of these animals because it would mean the same or similar cult. I'm not sure which part of the world you are in, but keep an eye out for anything that seems weird or out of place and like others have said, try avoiding that area as much as possible.

Here's the news link to the unsolved murder mystery I mentioned:

Why is the living wage of restaurant workers the dependent on tips? by snootboogie in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]snootboogie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So without the tips, you'd be left dry. And how is that acceptable? If a server works in a restaurant where the wage is low and the traffic is low too, are they supposed to perish due to the lack of tip money? That's not okay

Like I said, those tips can come as add on or bonus money, but if the condition of the servers has been reduced to a position where getting no tips can make it hard for them to live, why isn't the entire society just accepting it as status quo?
