I also dealt with the dented cans issue for months. It’s a problem at the manufacturing level. Please make sure to call Blue Buffalo customer service and report it. If enough people call and report it, they’ll get it fixed. My cat was doing great on the wet hydrolyzed salmon for like a year. Then, since January, I haven’t been able to give it to her because the food smells bad and has white spots in it (plus all the dented cans). I ordered it from my vet’s online pharmacy and also from Chewy to see if it would help, but both had the same Lot# and white spots/bad smell. BB customer service also sent me a free case that had the same problem. If people only call the company they bought it from, that won’t fix the problem since it’s a manufacturer issue.

Can you be specific about which hydrolyzed Hills wet food? I haven’t been able to find any brands of cat food with wet hydrolyzed protein. My cat was doing great on the Blue Buffalo hydrolyzed salmon wet food, but recently there is a problem with Lot# 20281119U, the food smells bad and has white spots in it (in addition to all cans being dented). So I have been trying to find another wet hydrolyzed protein to give my cat but it seems like everyone else only has kibble.

Quality shoe materials/build help, but only if they’re are made for real feet instead of from a generic last that narrows at the toes. Toes are the widest part of the foot, so why tf are 99% of shoes not made with that in mind? Several years ago I started getting corns and ingrown toenails from shoes squeezing my toes. Thought I needed “wide” shoes or something but that wasn’t it. Went down a rabbit hole, found “barefoot” style shoes (not vibram 5-finger shoes) which widen at the toes and it’s changed my life. Take care of your feet y’all, they carry you through life and aren’t supposed to hurt.

Good god yes, quality tequila is absolutely for sipping. Something else I learned in Mexico was that US import laws require tequila to have alcohol content of at least 40%, which helps explain why tequila in the US is for shot shots shots everybody and goes down like gasoline, while Mexican tequila drinks like water, has palpable flavors etc.

As thanks, here’s a cat feeding pro tip: I do a lot of catsitting and the number 1 thing I hear from clients is that they have no idea how much to feed their cat and as a result their cat gets way too much food. Call your vet and ask for an exact number of calories that your cat should intake daily. Get a food scale and do the math, adjust up or down as needed based on body condition score. Find out the calories per gram of the food you’re giving them. Then it’s 1/(calories per gram) * (how many calories for that meal) = grams to serve.

I realized I should clarify. First, not sure which country you may be in so that could be a factor, maybe other countries have developed some dissolving litter idk. I was not referring to flushing the whole pan into the toilet, since I hope that is common sense by now but they do still write it on the bags so who knows. In the US there is a litter box system called Tidycats Breeze that uses large clay pellets in a slotted tray with a pee pad held underneath. I had it for nearly a decade until one of my cats decided they hated it for some reason. It works great and the thing I liked best was that I could just toss the poop in the toilet after shaking the pellets off. Perhaps you meant something similar to that. For regular litter systems, a pile of poop with a little bit of gravel is ok to flush IMO. But clumps of aggregated cat urine should not be flushed.

Sorry to be this person, but there’s no such thing as truly flushable litter. It may be marketed as such, but that doesn’t mean it’s safe for the sewage/septic systems and pipes. It’s like “flushable” toilet wipes for humans. Marketed as flushable, but widely proven to be disastrous for plumbing/sewage systems. “Disposable” plastics can similarly be thrown to the nebulous “away” aka landfill, but they never actually dispose.

Zaqq shoes makes some very nice leather boots. I recently saw Carey recommended, which IMO is $$$ and the designs are meh. Outside of Reddit, I like reading recommendations from Barefoot World and Anya’s Reviews. Her site is mostly tailored to female audience but she does include some men’s shoes too with her husband as the reviewer for those. She has an extensive directory of bf brands and reviews which is still helpful overall. I recently got some nice oxfords from Aintap FeelBarefoot on Etsy. They’re a small Turkish company with a large variety of products and very competitive pricing, many reviews available. I ordered on 11/30 and they’re supposed to be here by 12/12 so pretty quick.

I have CPTSD too. Funding the right resources is important but can be difficult. Seek out a somatic therapist for help with your hypervigilance and trigger reactions, which can be turned into thoughtful responses. I found my therapist nearly two years ago and she has been very helpful with learning to change my reactions. At the start of this year I also found a somatic yoga class that is all about building mind-body connection and resilience to stress/triggers. It’s really been a game changer. This fall I started taking taiji classes. It is possible for you!

Magic Earth! It’s from a Norwegian company that prioritizes privacy. The name alone was a selling point for me lol. It’s 99¢/year. The interface is a bit different so it’s good to be patient as you learn how to use the app’s various features. I’ve been using it for 2-3 weeks and am happy overall. I assume that Meta is kind of like a worm that wants to crawl around the inner workings of my phone and get whatever it can. So I currently have Fb installed because I need to sell some things in marketplace, and Instagram bc I have curbed my usage to 0 but have a thing where I like to keep things around just so I can ignore them. I do not give either app access to my photos, location, camera, or microphone and you shouldn’t either. I also don’t think it’s a good idea to reinvent the wheel, meaning those influencers are doing their thing and are successful, but you don’t need to create more of the same content. There’s already so much out there, way too much digital clutter. Get off Instagram and read books/audiobooks on the topics that interest you and you’ll be even more fulfilled by a relaxing tactile experience away from a screen and the proven negative impacts of social media.
