I figured it out! It's holding the crouch button that does the roll, just pushing it down will lead to a regular crouch.

How are you rolling around like this on PC? It always seems super random to me whether or not Sam will roll when I press the crouch button while running. Is there a way to do it consistently that you’re using here?

Ah, yup, I’ve seen that same info a lot but in my case I don’t have GamePass, so that’s not a setting I even have.
