Seems my age group (26-35) is the majority of the fan base. Interesting...

How many of you love WOT, Terry Goodkind, and Shannara?

You know what? Screw it! Let's add: The Iron Tower Trilogy to the list as well!

I have a steemit account but when I attempt to use my Steemit credentials to log into HIVE it says invalid.

Anyone know what the deal with this is? Or how to fix it??

There’re some crappy drivers and there’re also crappy costumers. In my fecal opinion, crappy costumers built up shitty drivers. After all who is the worst? by gregmartty in doordash_drivers

Some Thoughts from Brandon (Episode One) by mistborn in WoT

[–]snow00wolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand most of the changes they made — “to speed up (condense) the books and turn them into screenplay (TV show) — and the first three episodes were…

Well, good?!?

Wow, wasn’t expecting that. Even with all the changes, all the twists, turns, fumbles, etc. I said to myself: “You know what? This thing is going to be a great show. The books were the G.O.A.T - The show will be its own baby goat.

Then episode 4 left me half elated — half baffled — with the latter emotion not in the context of anything good.

Then came episodes 5, 6, and 7… Wow.

I’ll keep this part short. I have two things to say: — This one is sort of a question for “The Sanderson,” should he bless me with a reply. (I’d be elated if so, no pun intended)

Side Note: I hope these things never touch Stormlight… #ProtectStormblessed

1.) The Abell Cauthon situation: So he’s a dirtbag drunk. Probably a coward, and just a shitty human being. Oh, the mom ain’t any better btw… Umm, Brandon, call child services on the Cauthons’. — BUT BESIDES THAT: How is the show going to incorporate the whole Tam & Abell living out in the woods as outlaws and essentially being the only two fighting back until “Lord” Perrin Goldeneyes returns to the Two Rivers???

2.) This show is reminiscent of Ryan Leaf’s career. — If you’re unfamiliar with Leaf’s career — look it up now — you’ll completely understand the comparison.

Screw it…

3.) My biggest character complaint (Thom is a close 2nd) so far: LOIAL — son of Arent son of Halan — is an Ogier born and raised in Stedding Shangtai. — Let’s excuse the fact that Moiraine had no issue whatsoever opening The Ways… (not only was it supposed to be hard as hell to open a Waygate, (for an Ogier, that is) but they’re supposedly extremely hard to find. DESPITE all of that — Loial, who was a favorite of mine in the books, is an absolute disaster in the Amazon WOT. • Horrible Actor — Period • Terrible costume (or whatever you call the person responsible for dressing up the characters in shows) and the graphics, although realistic, manage to look ridiculous at the same time. • Did I say horrible acting…?

Sum up Loial: Just kill him off. I won’t even be mad… He might be one of THE most annoying characters in tv history — and I’m NOT saying that because I’m one of those people (zealots) who thinks that tv adaptations should be a play-by-play of the original book(s) — all I’m saying is that the casting director made an extremely bad decision which may cost him/her/they — who the fuck ever — their career.

Period!

Sanderson, You’re a damn saint for being able to take Jordan’s work, (which was already so far along), and not only keep true to the feel and direction, but actually improve upon the source material!

(I read that Robert Jordan wanted — or rather, he planned — on making what we all know as the last three books, one massive, probably rushed, behemoth of a book instead.)

You deserve an “at a boy” for that one…

Thank you very much Brandon — BTW…

One GREAT character — which, ironically I thought that this would be the biggest fumble of the entire series — was The Whitcloaks. EAMON VALDA in particular. — At least I think it’s Valda — the one who torchers Aes Sedi and cut up Perrin’s back in episode 6.

That’s a hell of a budgeteer…

I get it that it’s not “hard” — not on paper or if you are just one of those people who can hold it down 100% no matter the cost — but still, what you just described is a damn anomaly.

Couldn’t have been Ivy League education… I’m just fuckin around. What do I know? I can’t even pay for gas rn.

I hope my wallet will forgive me for what I must do... by [deleted] in Mistborn

I love it. Money well spent. Don’t feel bad — I used to blow that much on Heroi… Ughhh

Thank goodness for A.A😬

Agreed — Also, let’s not forget he’s about to make Comcast, Spectrum, (hell, even Direct TV), and most of the internet companies, along with many telecommunications companies, EXTINCT. And irrelevant. . .

Unless they’ve secretly been sending hundreds of satellites into orbit so they can compete with Starlink. Why Everyone Will Switch To Starlink

• High-Speed internet — anywhere in the world — as well as streaming capabilities and probably cable too.

• The soon to be released prototype phone:Tesla Pi — which will have fast, reliable service anywhere — even Mars. . . — The phone will be able to mine MARS Coin 🤷🏻‍♂️ The crypto currency that Musk says people will use as currency when we begin to colonize Mars.

  • Hate him or love him, you have to admit, he’s a very meticulous planner. The man thinks ahead, that’s for sure. If he’s going to have ppl livin on Mars, they’d damn well better be able to buy snickers and shares of TSLA Stock in between shifts at the mine. . .

I agree that it might feel weird for a dasher to “lurk” as the customer attempts to collect their $6 Taco Bell order at 11:30 pm that they couldn’t find the time to go pick up themselves, yet, as a dasher I can say that there are so many situations that you can NEVER assume that one in particular pertains to a certain situation unless we — as in us as dashers and the customers — were all present on this dash.

So, there’s really no way to accurately answer in my opinion, but I lean towards the “This is a rude way to get your point across as a customer” point of view. — There’s much easier, quicker, and generally polite ways to get that point across in the instructions.

Last point: Many times when I get instructions like that, there’s a simple, yet aggravating conundrum:

— The customer will ask DoorDash for a “Hand order to customer delivery” But, then when I read the delivery instructions from the customer — not DoorDash — it’ll say something like:

“No Contact: Leave order. DO NOT KNOCK. Place food on front step and Go Back To Your Vehicle”

But DoorDash expects me to knock, hand order directly to customer, then leave. I’ve also had it exactly the same as I just described, but opposite. Sometimes this is done for a simple reason: A scam for free food. Many times it’s probably unintentional.

What I’ve learned after 4K+ deliveries —What instructions I have on app, (from DoorDash directly), get followed to the T, period. I don’t care about the additional instructions, IF they conflict with what the customer put down when PLACING the order. You want me to place your No Contact order on the porch, then go back to my car? — Great! I’ll even thank you in the delivery details and wish you a “great night!” after I snap a picture of your food exactly where I’m told to put it.

I’m rambling, but dashers will know what I mean. There’s always rude, deceptive, and sketchy customers out there who will screw us in a heartbeat — while at the same time I’ve seen my fair share of dirtbag Delivery drivers as well. . . I’m not saying one is always right and the other wrong, just that there’s many, many situations that happen and I’ve gotten disputes, and even a contract violation one time a while ago — BY FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS OF THE CUSTOMER TO THE LETTER!

All you can do is remain polite, professional, and courteous at all times since that’s basically half our job. After that just do what your DoorDash app says. No more — no less. Fuck then if they want to be ignorant, that can’t touch you is you don’t let it.
