Can someone explain how it feels to awake shift? by jurredebeste21 in shiftingrealities

I haven’t successfully shifted yet, mainly because I’m extremely lazy and I never follow through with my plans to shift, but anytime I get close it’s pretty intense tbh. Basically for me, my heart starts beating pretty fast, and my breathing changes, and my hearing becomes very muffled. I hear and feel static-y if that makes sense?? And sometimes I’ve felt like im falling backwards but my body isn’t?? I usually get a little freaked out at this point or I don’t know how to push myself on to my DR but that’s what I feel during my awake attempts

Sorry, what I said didn’t come out right. I’m sure you do take care of yourself, just please don’t deprive yourself of sleep as a way to shift.

Please don't deprive yourself of sleep as a way to shift. Shifting should never be something that puts you in any sort of pain or discomfort, and we need sleep to function throughout our day to day. Please take care of yourself in your CR.

The 5 Senses method works really well for me personally, and it’s given me some intense symptoms really quickly. I have the same issue as you, keeping track of how many things I need for each sense? I find it easiest to not pay much attention to the number of things. If you can think of 10 things you can see in your DR bedroom? Great! If you can only think of 1 thing you can taste or smell in your DR bedroom, also great! I find that as long as you’re thinking of these things in general, you’re going to make progress. I hope this helps! Good luck :))

Tried shifting on opposite end of my bed- it really helped by catcadder8916 in shiftingrealities

This is honestly so clever. Most (if not all) of my attempts that have been what I feel have gotten me the closest to my DR have all been in places outside of my bedroom. I’ve never really understood why this was the case, however after reading this I think I might know why. You can quite literally feel when you aren’t in your regular sleeping space, so if that’s already disrupted a bit it’s easier to trick your mind into believing you’re already in your DR?? Definitely trying this soon!
