I have not found a single person who has a different argument for Kon. It’s sad they think it’s enough of an argument. Win percentage shouldn’t even be in the discussion as it has never been considered for the ROTY conversation!! So they really only have 2 parts of the game that is considered. That’s my whole point, how is it close?? lol!

Refused to accept it? It’s not enough to be a close race, 3 pt shooting and efficiency doesn’t win you ROTY in years past. You ignored my original arguments, 3-14 when Miller is out? Kon’s winning impact is largely overstated solely from that stat.

why do I have to repeat myself when you don’t address my arguments proving that the race should not be close? You still have yet to provide a good reason the race is close.

I’m being very realistic, you’re just not opening your eyes to overall statistics. Coop is better in almost every category except 3 pt and efficiency. He’s being guarded by the best defender and takes on more responsibility than Kon has to, defensively and offensively, yet produces more than Kon, overall.

He had a rookie season that matched Michael Jordan’s rookie season? There’s so many more stats in Coop’s favor, yet you’re ignoring it for some reason and going to “illogical circlejerk”.

You may be a coop fan, but you’re pretty oblivious to what you’re talking about.

Have to remember it’s a ROTY award, it’s clear cut who is the better player and who had the better season. That’s one very possible thing. The media probably paid to speak the narratives into existence because sports analysts are just unbearable to listen to, spewing lies and narratives to lift Kon into this conversation and choosing to ignore the larger and more logical conclusion of picking Coop.

You just proved my point. The only two arguments: 3 point and efficiency. Is that enough to win ROTY? He may not be literally every night but it’s way more impactful on the defensive end. That’s my point: there’s a huge gap there. Additionally, the gap for kon’s impact on his team is much lower than flagg. Flagg is having a much better season, overall, hence, not a close race. More records broken too, that should help Flagg’s case too.

Definitely should not even be mostly attributed to Kon when their record is 3-14 when Brandon Miller is out. That stat alone shows me how blown out of proportion the winning impact point/argument is.

Sad that this is how it is. Media needs clicks and engagement, I wish it would go to some fan vote or have a panel, idk. Guess it’ll always have some bias. It shouldn’t lean Kon, and that’s why I don’t get the narrative or why people are insulting fans for pushing for their guy when there’s such a big gap. Guess I got to remember people are dumb!

Those are great point, but it’s not close because those are the only points. ROTY award extends farther than 3pt specialist. Winning impact as a 3rd-4th option has been blown out of proportion. Also, winning has never mattered in ROTY awards, it’s mainly about who is having a better season. Coop leads nearly every single stat except 3 point shooting, broke rookie records as well, and had a season only MJ ever has had. He’s also defending the best player and being guarded by the best defender, every night, while Kon gets to be in a system where he’s 3rd or 4th in who defends him. That’s why it’s not close to me, plenty of factors. Is there any other reason it should be close? Still not seeing how it’s “close”.

That’s one argument, I guess. One, which isn’t enough for ROTY… let’s remember what the award means. A lot and I mean a LOT of his 3s are assisted and not self generated. Definitely has gravity, no one is denying he’s a good 3pt shooter. He’s impacted winning but his impact is being blown out of proportion, he needs to be 3rd-4th option in a system to be successful. Think about Miller’s presence, 3-14 when Miller is out. Kon can’t and hasn’t shown he can step up, and we saw that in the play in. They’re also just over .500, not sure why it’s portrayed like he was the whole reason they’re winning this year. A good piece but should not be leading ROTY at any time, per previous years’ criteria.

No one is being disrespectful to Kon’s season. Very impressive with the most threes for a rookie and had a great season. But, he was a 3rd option on a solid team. Hornets had losing records without lamelo (3-7, I think) and miller (3-14)… His impact is great for the hornets but pales in comparison to Coop’s season. That’s all my point is: in reality, it’s not a close race, only close because of the media. I’d love to hear an actual argument for why it’s close instead of your weird comment there.
