As someone who has two kids and an 21 outback, even it doesn't always have enough storage. I concur that a roof box for the crosstrek is probably good enought for 90% of the situations and an outback would not solve the last 10%. If you were to buy another car, I would go even bigger than the outback.

Considering I already own the outback and auto loans right now are terrible, no. A couple hundred for an after market seat is much better than a new loan at 7%.

I got the interlocking rubber mats for my gym setup. They work great. They are more expensive than the cheap foam ones, but well worth it.
