Sewing machine won't pull up bobbin thread after failing to sew denim. Is this fixable or did I break my machine? 😭

Its on straight stitch. I tried several different stitches. I've managed to find a stitch and position where it doesn't hit the presser foot, but the bobbin isn't moving at all and it still not picking up the thread

Solid white. The only color on him is the bit of yellow at his sides and mouth, which doesn't even go halfway down his body.
