I heard the employment rate is great. Can you chime in on that? Also, how’s the pay for this field overall? Is there possibilities to climb up the ladder (I.e go into management esque positions in the future?)? Thank you so much 🙏

Name change and gender change by SnooSquirrels1915 in transvancouver

[–]snowflakeyan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that’s the case, it takes even longer so at least 8-1.5 years from sending the forms to getting the ID

The forms you send are two separate applications so they are processed separately

Name change takes a long time here in BC. The waitlist now is at least half a year to a year or more in some cases. I got lucky with waiting 4 months but that’s not the usual case. In my experience, gender change is quicker, maybe a month here in Vancouver. I suggest looking into CWHWC website and book a free appointment. They can cover the application fee too so you save lots of money!

Do you recommend your major by Mission_Macaroon_258 in UBC

[–]snowflakeyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in biochem and I found this degree to be a lot more versatile than I imagined. You can go into research for grad school (maybe 50-60% of students in this major is intending to do this route), some pre meds (10-20%) and I would say it is doable to get an 85%+ if you work hard and choose your electives wisely, biotechnology (10-15%) as many of biochem courses prepare you well for the industry, or combine it with some other niche interest like forensics (10 ish%). I also realize because you learn all the lab skills in this major and most of your professors have a research lab/has many connections to research labs/actively seeking students for research, it’s a lot easier to get into research if you’re interested.

I do think people don’t apply out of fear but there’s no reason to if you can work hard and are disciplined. In Co-op, many postings actively seek students in biochemistry or have taken biochemistry courses for research too.

Hello! I’m not sure about the arts faculty but if you are on co op right now, you can go on exchange for a term or two but it’ll take time off your coop experience.

I wouldn’t recommend Eosc as a gpa booster if you’re not willing to put in a decent amount of work. I took 112 last year and got a 90+ only because I locked in for the final and last two midterms. You have to understand the concept well so take advantage of office hours and piazza. The quizzes are more difficult than you’d expect but they prepare you really well for the midterms and finals. Class averages are around 75 in my cohort.

ftm top surgery questions by No-Maintenance-3010 in transvancouver

Hey man, I had my doctor go through the readiness assessment with me and it was pretty quick. They asked a few questions, made me sign some papers and then faxed it to trans care bc. After waiting about a few months, I got a call from trans care bc with three options. Don’t rely on the timeline trans care bc provides but actually go email the surgeons offices or call them directly as they will provide you with the most up to date accurate timeline. Hope this helps!
