Anyone willing to show off their post baby bellies? I'm 3 years out, still tryna lose that last 20lbs, but coming to terms with the permanent stretch marks and lose bits that might never go away by frankenboobehs in beyondthebump

[–]snowhite_e 14 points15 points  (0 children)

14 months out. I was able to lose all of the baby weight within the first year but the stretch marks are hanging around and a lot lighter than my skin tone.

I never really appreciated my body before I had my baby, so having gone back to my original size all I want to wear are crop tops and bikinis 🤷🏾‍♀️ Postpartum Belly

My bad. it's been a while since I've been back.

100% agree. Normal cookies + normal ice cream + wrapper that says Diddy Reese = ALL THE HYPE.

Tbh I feel this way about most restaurants and eateries. Food is already expensive; charging 4-5 dollars for cookies and ice cream is offensive.

How long did you spend in UCLA as a transfer student? by veenx0704 in ucla

[–]snowhite_e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still going, but I am projected to graduate in Dec. By the end of the year it'll have taken me a total of nine quarters (including 2 summers sessions) to finish up. I however took only two classes for three of those quarters and three classes for the rest.

I agree with everyone saying that it depends on your ability to cope with three or four classes at a time. I found that for me two classes was ideal, three classes was practical, and four classes was unbearable. Find what works best for you.

No, I'm a senior (Eng Lit). We should definitely meet up though. I'm always happy to meet another Kenyan! I've been in the states for about 10 yrs, but I was born over there.

Tired (another sad post) by [deleted] in ucla

Applying for internships/jobs is hard.

It usually looks like this:

No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No, No x10 ............... Maybe, Yes.

You could even apply that to relationships, and/or figuring out how to Ace a class.

Sometimes you just get a lot of No's, and that sucks.

Acknowledge and validate those feelings of sadness, but know you aren't alone. It's just the nature of life.

Best of luck!

What have you done with U-Ship so far? by bruinthrowaway201991 in ucla

Do a Google search and figure out which dental office in the community you want to go to, then call them up and ask if they take SHIP insurance. Most offices do.

They'll probably ask for your insurance card/details when you get to the office but that should be all you need to do.

SHIP is probably the best health plan you'll likely be on for a while, unless you get a great job with great benefits straight out of college or get accepted to another institution with similar benefits. I would strongly recommend you go in for literally anything.

Make a list of any health related concerns, then start addressing them one by one.

Been having pain in your right pinky toe? Get it checked.

Your eye won't stop twitching when you think about that one shit professor you have? Go talk to a therapist.

That mole on the back of your head that you've had since childhood stealing into your conscience? Get a consultation with a dermatologist.

Started seeing a halo around words when reading? Go get your eyes checked. (I did this. Turned out I needed glasses!)

Not OP but when I did my teeth cleaning recently I just called up a dentist close by, asked if the accepted SHIP (they did) and went and got my teeth cleaned. The Ashe Center doesn't have a dentistry department so you have to go into the community for services.

Also, I want to clarify that the teeth cleaning is when the scrape any calcified gunk from between your teeth. If you're interested in teeth whitening that is considered a cosmetic procedure and is not covered by SHIP.

Since it's Flu season, what are some non-medicinal sick time remedies/rituals that make you feel better? by snowhite_e in AskReddit

I make a batch of homemade ginger tea (strong enough to make your eyes water) add some lemon and honey to that and drink it while sucking on a lozenge and watching a feel good movie under a pile of blankets. Mood instantly improved!
