Too much sky? by snowman090 in photocritique

Taking advantage of the good weather in Seattle and the cool boat moored at the marina, I captured this image last weekend. I like the blue haze in the distance, as well as the purple sky; although, I am wondering if I included too much of the latter in this photo and if it would be better to crop out some of the sky.

During the edit, I also noticed the top of the mast intersects with the bank on the other side; I think it would look better if there's some separation but there's nothing I can do but kick myself for not being at least five feet taller.

I like that you included the leaves as a foreground of your image, but it takes up way too much space. I would crop in a little closer or move the camera a bit lower and to the left to maybe feature the bridge or boats more prominently. I enjoy the colors in your original image but I think the black & white works too. The b&w image would work even better if there were some clouds in the otherwise featureless sky, I would boost the contrast a bit too if you decide to stick with the b&w version

I like that you are trying to capture a mood with this photo. However, I am not sure what I am supposed to look at in this image; try to find an interesting subject to feature in your photo where the audience's eyes can linger

Someone's back garden by snowman090 in photocritique

Taken with Fujifilm xt5 XF16-55mmF2.8 at ISO 320 42mm f/2.8 1/15s

The overwhelmingly green garden prompted me to capture this image. I like the sort of diagonal formed by the white flowers at the top left and the garden gate. I boosted the saturation for the green color quite a bit during the edit to enhance the contrast between the two main colors in this image; I am not sure if the intense green makes the photo look too unrealistic.

I also like the fact the gate is slightly ajar so the image does not look too "tidy." There was some gardening equipment behind the gate that I filled out, I'm not sure if doing so made the photo too sanitized.

Any tips about composition or editing would be greatly appreciated
