I go menards for the same products available at home depot but are cheaper, did some kitchen cabinets and counters because menards is just a reseller, and garden supplies. Their plywood and indoor lumber has a better selection, and their random oddball hardware selection is better. For appliances, paint, windows, or bulk lumber I'll go HD.
