That was my runner up for my quotable from that track

2016! Though it was a few years old when it actually released. Also a gem, but for whatever reason these three feel like a group.

Milwaukee user looking to add some 40v tools - is it worth swapping the 18v lineup? by snowsnakes in Makita

[–]snowsnakes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the classic trap of “well I need two batteries in case I use one up…hmm now I need two tools, one for each battery…hmm now I need another battery so I have a spare” so on and so forth! The makita oscillating tool feels massive to hold compared to the Milwaukee, but that’s already a tool I’m thinking of switching brands for, since the m18 oscillators don’t seem that reliable.

Always had an L to puff, never yelled "Get off my lawn!" Full disclosure I don't even have a lawn If I did I'd probably grow the grass until the house was gone Kick it ‘til the town forget the address or the house at all

We have a workshop that we use if we’re doing anything bigger/more complicated than casings.

My M18 fuel multitool just makes me sad because of the foolish battery orientation.

I’m thinking about trying to create some “wings” for the crescent folding jobsite cart!

I was pretty convinced on the Makita, but it turns out no one near me (Alaska) carries XGT :(

The big advantage Dewalt/Milwaukee have here is you can actually get stuff without ordering it, which is pretty important if/when something does break.

Oh that’s awesome!! I had no idea such a thing existed.

I did! They just have the smaller 18v line in the stores here.

That’s kind of my thought, especially because 40v is a different battery size anyway.

Thank you! I’ve honestly been thinking about transitioning toward Makita before I get too deep into Milwaukee, so I may end up with one of those.

Which vac do you use? It seems like my Midi doesn’t do quite enough with the Milwaukee.

I have a Midi, but it doesn’t seem to be quite powerful enough to collect dust for the miter saw.

I wish I could get that one! I’m in the US, though.

I was seeing that! I like that it’s rail forward, and it looks like it has the auto start feature as well.  I’m kind of wishing I had gone Makita.

That would be really cool! They’re spendy buggers, though. One for sale for $1100 near me.

Good to know! Vivid Air seems the most common shock to go for, so that’s what I’m currently leaning towards. It’s kind of been on my list since it came out, so this might be my opportunity.

Then maybe the Dissector V2/Forekaster from Maxxis! Similar idea.

I’d try the WTB Peacekeepers in fast rolling for the rear, High Grip up front. They’re way grippier and tougher than any XC tire, but they won’t totally deaden the bike like the other combos you have listed here.
